Jack Wilshere trolled for 'speaking like he's reading a eulogy' on Sky Sports before West Ham vs Arsenal

Supporters claimed the crocked midfielder sent them to sleep as he sounded like "he was reading from a eulogy."

The 27-year-old is unavailable for the match because of an ankle injury – which could keep him out until the end of the season.

He joined Jamie Redknapp, Alex Scott and Kelly Cates in the studio before kick-off at the London Stadium.

But viewers quickly branded him as the "most boring pundit ever" after his brief appearance on screen.

One Twitter user moaned: "Wilshere seems half asleep as a pundit, you'd think he'd be quite excited #WHUARS."

Another questioned: "Why is Jack Wilshere speaking like he's reading a eulogy?"

While another begged: "@SkySportsPL please do not have Jack Wilshere as a pundit EVER again. Please."

One fan said: "Jack Wilshere certainly does not have a career in punditry when he quits football."

The midfielder will watch Manuel Pellegrini's men take on his former club from the comfort of the sidelines.

Wilshere signed for West Ham on a free transfer this summer after he struggled to cement his spot in Arsenal's first-team.

But he has managed just five appearances since then because of ongoing fitness issues.
