Man Utd leged Sir Alex Ferguson joins training to inspire squad before Spurs game

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been working very closely with the Old Trafford legend since he took over from Jose Mourinho last month.

The Norwegian boss will be hoping that the 77-year-old's presence at Carrington on Saturday will give his team a huge boost.

Ferguson also returned to the training ground before the 4-1 win over Bournemouth last month.

SunSport exclusively revealed that during that visit he gave a rousing speech, telling them: "You can make this club great again."

He did not attend any training sessions when David Moyes or Louis van Gaal were in charge, but he was invited back by Mourinho.

Following his last visit, Solskjaer said: "He enjoyed his time at the training ground. He had a few nice chats with the staff and he encouraged us."

Solskjaer played under the management of Ferguson for 11 years and he is keen to mimic his managerial approach.

SunSport exclusively revealed that the interim boss has even planned to reintroduce Ferguson's famous quiz night.

The squad will feel revitalised as they return to Carrington after their warm-weather training camp in Dubai this week.

United stars took the chance to lap up the Middle East sunshine following last week's 2-0 win over Reading in the FA Cup.

Fred missed out on the trip to Dubai because his partner was due to give birth, but he was spotted with the squad on Saturday.

The Reds have now won five games on the bounce since Solskjaer took the reigns.

But the interim boss faces his toughest test to date when they travel to Wembley to take on Mauricio Pochettino's side.
