Emotional Kym Marsh says daughter Polly 'saved' her after son's stillbirth as she celebrates her 8th birthday

KYM Marsh shared an emotional birthday message for her daughter Polly today as she claimed the eight-year-old "saved" her following the stillbirth of her son Archie.

The actress, 42, said Polly was "a gift" from her older brother and told how thankful she is for her.

Writing alongside pictures spanning Polly's life, from a newborn to the present day, Kym wrote: "8 years ago today I was blessed with the most amazing gift I could have ever wished for.

"My beautiful Polly was born. My little girl doesn’t even know how very special she is. She saved me. She brought me light through such darkness, my sunshine, my absolute world.

"We didn’t have an easy ride getting her here. It was a rough ride, not just my pregnancy, but her first few weeks of life were scary and tough for her but she is one hell of a fighter and she fought and overcame every obstacle she was faced with.

"Polly, I am so very proud of you. I am so very grateful for you and I feel so lucky that I was given the chance to be your mummy.

"You are a gift. A gift from above. A gift from your big brother I believe. I believe he sent you to us. I am so thankful for that.

"So on this day my sweetheart. Know how very much you are loved and cherished. You beautiful, funny, kind, caring, wonderful little girl. Happy birthday darling. I love you to the moon and back. Always and forever xxx."

Last month Kym told late son Archie "mummy will love you forever" in an emotional tribute on the 10th anniversary of his death.

The Coronation Street actress gave birth to her stillborn son 18 weeks prematurely in February 2009 with then husband Jamie Lomas.

But a decade on, the pain is still raw for the 42-year-old, who shared a picture on Instagram of her memory corner for her little boy.

It featured an angel box and candle, as well as a picture with a print of Archie's tiny hands and feet.

There is also another frame featuring a playing card with a big 'A' on it.

Kym wrote alongside it: "10 years on and it still hurts like it was yesterday.

"I wish I could show you a photo of a smiling boy surrounded by gifts.

"I wish I could show you videos of his party, playing with his mates and eating sweets til his tummy hurt. "I wish I could show you photos of us all celebrating his birthday with him front and centre blowing out his candles.

"I wish I could kiss him and say happy birthday son. I wish I could hold his hand again just for one minute. I wish for so many moments I can’t have."

Kym, who is mother to son David, 23 as well as daughters Emily, 22 and Polly added: "I may not be able to hold you Arch, or give you kisses or tell you that mummy loves you more than you will ever know.

"But you are in my heart always. I will never forget you or stop loving you or stop missing you or stop wishing you were here.

"Happy birthday my angel. Fly High up there kid. I love you always and forever. Mummy xxxx."
