Her Corrie character may be languishing in jail but Sally Dynevor looked care-free as she hit the shops at the weekend.
The 55-year-old took time out from the soap to do some pre-Christmas shopping in Altrincham, Greater Manchester.
Shocked fans saw Weatherfield mayor Sally Metcalfe sentenced to four years after being found guilty of fraud, money laundering and bribery. She was framed by Duncan Radfield who persuaded her to hand over £40,000 of council cash to his bogus charity.
Coronation Street lovers declared it the most unfair soap trial since Deirdre Rachid’s fraud case in 1998 and called for her to be released.
But Corrie spoilers confirmed she will spend Christmas behind bars.
Just days ago, the former major of Weatherfield, played by Sally Dynevor, collapsed once the verdict in the trial was read out.
"No, no, no," her shocked husband Tim was heard muttering.
Sally’s daughter Sophie was seen crying as the judge told her that she would be taken back to jail while he considered her sentence.
Sally was in tears as she cried out: "I didn’t do it, I didn’t do it."
