Another day, another controversy surrounding Kanye West. This time, the outspoken rapper was called out by a cast member of “The Cher Show” for getting a bit too preoccupied with his phone when he attended the opening night on Monday night, December 3 along with his wife Kim Kardashian.
Jarrod Spector, who plays Sonny in the production, took to Twitter to remind Kanye that the show was still ongoing, writing, “Hey @kanyewest so cool that you’re here at @TheCherShow! If you look up from your cell phone you’ll see we’re doing a show up here. It’s opening night. Kind of a big deal for us. Thanks so much.”
Kanye responded a few hours later and apologized for his “lack of etiquette,” also noting that he was actually enjoying the show with Kim. “the dynamics of Cher and Sonny’s relationship made Kim and I grab each other’s hand and sing ‘I got you babe’,” the “Stronger” spitter replied. “please pardon my lack of etiquette. We have so much appreciation for the energy you guys put into making this master piece.”
Following his response, a source close to the Yeezy founder revealed to TMZ what Kanye was actually doing on his phone. According to the so-called source, he was taking notes about the show as he loved the production so much. He allegedly thought that the show was so beautiful that he and Kim pushed their flight back so that the could catch the end of the show. The couple initially planned to stay until the intermission.
