Susanna Reid is now dating chairman of Crystal Palace, Steve Parish, however her romantic life has seen a number of ups and down over the years. The Good Morning Britain host revealed how she was “stood up for a date” by an undisclosed man because she didn’t drink. The 49-year-old’s revelation came as she documented her life without alcohol, after giving up more than six months ago. Speaking in My Sober Diaries to The Sunday Times Style, she spoke candidly about the reaction she has received since making the lifestyle change.

Susanna commented: “What I do miss is the socialising. Alcohol brings you together with people to mark occasions. It’s a social binder.
“It’s part of our culture and our lives. Not drinking can seem to some like a form of dull piety or deliberate sabotage.”
She continued: “I’ve been to birthday lunches where the host feels insulted you’re not drinking champagne to celebrate her big day.”
It was then the mother-of-three stated: “I got stood up for a date because the guy discovered I don’t drink.”
Susanna went on to discuss how her outspoken co-star Piers Morgan feels about her decision.
She added: “And I know that my drinking buddy Piers Morgan thinks I’ve become the world’s biggest bore since I no longer want to stay up into the small hours fuelled by shots.”
Susanna is now regularly seen with boyfriend Steve, 49, at Selhurst Park, after speaking out about her south London team on numerous occasions over the years.
The star was previously married to Dominic Cotton between 1998 and 2014, and the pair are parents to Sam, Jack and Finn.
Meanwhile, it come just days after she remained tight-lipped as to her reasons for ditching the booze.
Susanna refused to divulge the details behind her sobriety, after losing lost two stone in weight.
Speaking to GQ, she remained cryptic about exactly why she chose to go teetotal, however, having previously said she made the decision after a particularly heavy partying trip to Ibiza with Judge Rinder, 40.
“I can’t say what happened exactly, as it’s too personal,” she told the publication. “But we went big.”
Susanna admitted to feeling like she was missing out after giving up alcohol.
