Tess Daly, who tied the knot with her beau Vernon Kay in 2003, rarely gives fans an insight into her relationship but the Strictly Come Dancing presenter has taken to Instagram to address her beau’s decision. The 51-year-old shared that her other half had plans to make a move she is not 100 percent on board with.

In view of her 517,000 followers, Tess shared a snap of Vernon looking summer ready as he sported a T-shirt teamed with a pair of blue tinted sunglasses.

The TV presenter’s dark tresses were swept back over his head, as he turned away from the camera.

She captioned the post: “Trying to convince him to keep the lockdown locks @vernonkay #dontcutit #photobyme.”

It appeared as though her spouse had enough of his longer tresses which have grown during lockdown as barbers and hair salons were previously closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Fans flocked to comment on the post, as many people agreed he should leave his hair alone.

One person said: “It suits him Tess, get him to keep it.”

To which Tess replied: “I will do.”

“Is that Vernon! Wow!” a second person gushed, while another social media user added: “Agree do not cut! Suits you!”

Another person commented: “Don’t cut it. Looking very sophisticated right there.”

Vernon also took to his Instagram account and shared the same photo.

Meanwhile, he recently opened up about reconnecting with his wife Tess during lockdown, admitting it took “a lot of getting used to”.

Vernon explained that he’s embraced the opportunity to spend more time with the family away from their busy work schedules.

“At first it took a lot of getting used to because we do enjoy our freedoms, the simple things like just nipping to the shop or going out for a beer with your mates and general social gatherings that you take for granted and once they’ve gone you think, ‘Right, what am I going to do?’,” he said.

“The positive thing is that it’s enabled us as a family to really get to know each other even better than you would as a family.”

Vernon acknowledged how busy they all are on a normal daily basis with work commitments, which can sometimes lead to missing out on valuable family time.

He explained: “When you think about it when you’re in a relationship, a working relationship, you wake up, you go to work, you get back and you have your dinner, kids doing their homework, you go to bed.

“So you only really see each other for four or five hours in a day, if that.”

Vernon added on the Humans of XS Manchester podcast: “When you’re in lockdown and you’re spending 24/7 with each other it really gives you the chance to really kind of reconnect and get to know each other better, not better, but you really get under the skin of your relationships with your kids and your missus.”

Tess and Vernon have been married for over 16 years and share two children together; Phoebe, 15 and Amber, 11.

Meanwhile, Strictly Come Dancing is in the running for a BAFTA TV Award tonight as the BBC show has been nominated in the Best Entertainment category.
