She ready … to try some new material!
Tiffany Haddish surprised an intimate crowd at Old Man Hustle Comedy Bar on the Lower East Side of Manhattan on Thursday night.
“There was a sense of shock when she walked in. It’s a 20-person bar,” a spy told Page Six.
We’re told the “Last Black Unicorn” author appeared to drop in to the show, which was a part of the New York Comedy Festival, to watch her friend, comedian Aida Rodriguez perform. Rodriguez was featured in Haddish’s Netflix show “Tiffany Haddish Presents: They Ready.”
The “Girls Trip” star hit the stage herself at the end of the show. “She waited for every comic to go on, was super respectful and laughing at jokes,” the spy added, noting that she seemed to be working out new material and was “riffing with the audience mostly.”
“It was really cool to see her in a really intimate setting because she plays arenas and theaters,” the spy noted, “She was having fun.”
When reached for comment, Old Man Hustle Comedy Bar told Page Six, “Last Night during our Special Guests and Drop in show for New York Comedy Festival, we had scheduled Aida Rodriguez to perform. And Tiffany was with her watching the set, and decided to perform. This [is] the type of show you can expect when you come to Old Man Hustle either on the Lower East Side or the brand new location opening this weekend in Williamsburg.”
