Smyths Toys launches half price toy sale with 50% off Lego, Avengers and Toy Story

SMYTHS Toys has launched a huge half price sale with discounts on brands like Lego and Avengers.

The sale also includes 50% off Toy Story, Hatchimals, Little Live Pets and more.

It could be a good opportunity for parents to stock up on lower-priced toys, what with Christmas just over two months away.

But before you part ways with any cash, it's still a good idea to compare prices online to make sure you’ve found the best deal.

See our box below to find out how you can do this.

Smyths' toy sale is live now online – you can view the full selection on its website.

How to compare prices to get the best deal

JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t mean it’s always a good deal.

There are plenty of comparison websites out there that'll check prices for you – so don't be left paying more than you have to.

Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.

Here are some that we recommend:

  • Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
  • Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
  • Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
  • CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.

We’ve asked the retailer if it’s available in stores too and we’ll update this article when we know more.

The Sun is also checking if the sale has an end date.

If you’re buying online, you’ll pay £4.99 for delivery orders under £10, £2.99 on orders that cost between £10 and £19, or free on anything over £19.

Click and collect to your nearest store is also free.

If you’d rather browse in person, use the Smyths store finder to track down your nearest branch. Smyths has over 100 stores in the UK.
