The brilliant way a woman helped her stranded boyfriend watch Match of the Day

A serious crash that closed a busy main road left drivers stranded in standstill traffic – including one frustrated football fan.

However one woman came up with a clever way to help her boyfriend catch up on the sport while stuck in the traffic.

Alice Stanton-Wright shared a photo of her Facetiming her boyfriend Kurt Smith while Match of the Day was being shown on the TV.

Essex Live reports that during the football highlights show, clips of Newcastle vs West Ham match are being shown.

Alice revealed that Kurt is a West Ham who also plays for Romford FC so he must have enjoyed tuning in to the BBC One show.

The Hammers eventually cruised to a 3-0 victory away at St James’ Park thanks to a double from Javier Hernandez and a goal from Felipe Anderson.

The A12 was blocked last night in both directions heading southbound between junction 12 for Mountnessing and Shenfield and the M25 junction at the Brook Street roundabout after the serious two-vehicle crash.

Reports indicate that one vehicle involved left the road.

Witnesses reported seeing fire engines and a large number of ambulances on the scene.

Highways England also confirmed on Twitter that the air ambulance landed on the road.

Some said they had been stuck in standstill traffic for almost an hour.

Other drivers even turned their engines off and got out of their vehicles.
