Manchester United want to sign a right winger and a centre-back after landing Donny van de Beek, according to reports.

The Daily Star claim the Red Devils are set to make some big moves in the transfer market this summer.

It's no secret that they are desperate to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

But the transfer looks increasingly unlikely as United failed to reach an agreement with the German side.

  • THE LAST DONS

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is busily plotting transfer action as the Manchester United boss gears up for his second full season at the helm.

The Red Devils rallied to come third last term after the January signing of Bruno Fernandes, and will hope that a few more acquisitions can propel them even further.

United are yet to recruit any new players for the 2020-21 season, but it's not for the want of trying.

Solskjaer's men have been linked with plenty of fresh talent – not least a difficult-looking deal for Borussia Dortmund superstar Jadon Sancho.

Here's how they could line-up next season if they land their top targets.

  • REDDY, STEADY GO

Manchester United have joined Liverpool in the race to land wantaway Bayern Munich star Thiago, according to reports.

And Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge expects to receive a bid for the £27million-rated midfielder in “the next few days”.

Jurgen Klopp's Reds seem to be in pole position to sign Thiago.

But respected Norwegian reporter Fredrik A. N. Filtvedt, who works for Dagbladet TV, claims United are now in the mix.

  • REDDY TO RUMBLE?

Here's how the start of Manchester United's season is looking…

  • EVRA GREEN

United legend Patrice Evra has made a shock comeback – for non-league minnows Brentham FC.

Video footage has emerged of the 39-year-old former France left-back resuming his playing career.

The Middlesex County League side lost 3-2 to North Greenford.

Evra needed match practice as he is getting ready to play in this year's Soccer Aid match on Sunday September 6.

  • MESSI SITUATION

Barcelona are already preparing for life without Lionel Messi, according to reports.

Manchester City, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are the favourites to pull off the sensational transfer.

United have also been linked to him – but that move is very unlikely.

According to The Telegraph, “key individuals at the Catalan club believe City’s pursuit of Messi may well prove successful”.

But Barca are planning ahead, and have reportedly identified Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez as the man to replace him.

  • HAPPY EVRA AFTER

Patrice Evra gave fans an insight into the life of Cristiano Ronaldo with a hilarious tweet.

The pair were Old Trafford team-mates from 2006 when Evra joined them from Monaco.

And the defender revealed Ronaldo's obsession with training – and claimed even a lunch date with him could turn into a workout.

He wrote: “He is a machine!!! Just don't go to his house for lunch it's like another training session!”

  • MAT'S YOUR LOT

Manchester United should challenge for the title after proving their potential post-lockdown, claimed Nemanja Matic.

He told MUTV: “From next season, there is no excuse.

“We have to go with everything. We have to fight for the title because I felt this year we dropped some points too easily.

“We allowed Liverpool to win [the title], I don't know, ten games before the season finished.

“They won the league, so we cannot allow that. We need to fight to the end.

“We have to play with more confidence, with more responsibility.”

  • WHAT A DON

United want to sign Donny van de Beek from Ajax – but he has other ideas.

The 23-year-old Dutchman is holding out for Barcelona to make their move, according to reports.

  • DAK'S ALL FOLKS

Manchester United are looking at attempting another raid on Red Bull Salzburg after being unsuccessful in trying to sign Erling Haaland over the winter.

The Red Devils are targeting striker Patson Daka, who netted twice in the Austrians' 2-2 draw with Liverpool last week.

The Zambian, scored 24 goals in 31 league games, would command a fee of at least £20m if he is to move.

  • BEEK NAME SIGNING

Manchester United are reportedly closing in on the signing of Donny Van de Beek after Ajax boss Henk ten Cate revealed he had been left out of their squad due to “developments” over his future.

And Sky Sport Italia journalist Fabrizio Romano says the Dutch side are willing to let him leave for around £36m, a fee well within the Red Devils' price range.

Barcelona had been interested in signing Van de Beek but their interest now appears to have dried up, whcih could give United a free run.

  • GOOD MORNING, MAN UTD FANS

Manchester United are finally ready to make their move in the transfer market as they target Ajax's Donny van de Beek.

The midfielder was left out of the squad to face Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday afternoon.

His manager Erik ten Hag then confirmed it was because there are “developments” over his future.

Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains a huge fan and is pushing for a deal to be finalised sooner than later.

Van de Beek's arrival could see Fred leave the club with Galatasaray ready to make their move.

The club are also weighing up a move for Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka.

Daka, 21, scored 24 goals in 31 league games as Salzburg won the Austrian title for the seventh year in a row, despite selling star striker Erling Haaland in January.

The young star would not be cheap, with a fee of £20million plus, as he signed a new contract last year that runs until 2024.

Meanwhile Harry Maguire insists his ongoing Greece court case will not affect his performances on the field.

SunSport exclusively revealed how he will not meet up with his team-mates next week with Solskjaer giving him an extended break.

  • MOB-BUSTERS

Harry Maguire was arrested by top undercover cops drafted in from mainland Greece to target organised crime on Mykonos.

The detectives were on the holiday island to monitor drug dealing and protection rackets when they were called in to help detain the England ace.

It emerged on Saturday they were specially trained in anti-corruption and bribery — an accusation levelled at the Man United skipper, 27.

Maguire feared he was being kidnapped when the plain clothes men pounced. It followed a row sparked when Harry’s pals said two Albanians had injected his sister Daisy, 20, with a drug as they waited for a minibus in the Fabrika area.

The police, we can reveal, were among a team of 120 sent in to grapple with the seedier side of Mykonos, dubbed the “new Ibiza”.

  • THE DON

Manchester United are “monitoring” the situation of Ajax's Donny van de Beek.

The midfielder was left out of the team today and manager Erik ten Hag confirmed there were “developments” regarding his future.

And now journalist Simon Peach believes the Red Devils are ready to make their move.

He wrote on Twitter: “mufc monitoring Donny van de Beek situation. Unlike some speculation this summer, this isn’t complete cloud cuckoo land.”

  • FRED ALERT

Manchester United are bracing themselves for a Galatasaray bid for Fred, according to reports.

The Turkish giants are reportedly preparing a loan deal with an option to buy.

Brazilian midfielder Fred did not feature as much after United signed Bruno Fernandes in January.

And with Paul Pogba also welcome back into the fold, the Turks will try and swoop for the 27-year-old, according to Turkish outlet Fotomac.

Fatih Terim's side are in desperate need of a midfielder after Southampton's Mario Lemina and Fulham's Jean Michael Seri returned to their clubs following loan spells with the Istanbul side.

  • BEE BYE

Manchester United target Donny van de Beek was left out of Ajax's squad today because of transfer interest in the midfielder.

The Dutch side's manager Erik ten Hag confirmed there were “developments” which meant he left the 23-year-old out of his team to play Eintracht Frankfurt this afternoon.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are also keen on the Dutch star and it now seems certain Van de Beek will leave Ajax this summer.

Speaking ahead of today's match, Ten Hag said: “There are indeed developments that prevent him from being in the selection.

“We are looking at how that will end.”

  • BEEK ON?

Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Ajax to discuss a move for Donny van de Beek.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have long been linked with the 23-year-old midfielder.

But Sport reports contact has been initiated ahead of a deal.

There is some talk Barcelona could be a potential destination also, with Ronald Koeman leaving his job as Holland coach to move to the Nou Camp.

  • SCORE DRAW

Manchester United's Under-23s took on Huddersfield Town today.

The Red Devils' young guns secured a 3-3 draw in an entertaining pre-season game.

Mark Help opened the scoring before Anthony Elanga doubled the lead away from home.

But Huddersfield smashed three in a row to mount an incredible comeback before a late equaliser through Hannibal Mejbri spared United's blushes.

  • HUDD IT ALL

Manchester United have waved goodbye to goalkeeper Joel Pereira.

The 24-year-old will join Huddersfield on loan for the 2020/21 campaign.

  • SANCH-GO

Darren Fletcher reckons Jadon Sancho “ticks all the boxes” for Manchester United.

The Borussia Dortmund star is still Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's top target – but a summer switch looks increasingly unlikely.

In the Metro, Fletcher said: “At his young age, to be doing what he's doing at that level of football is fantastic and there's no doubt that he's got a bright future in the game.

“It's clearly a position that Manchester United, I feel, have needed for a number of years now, somebody who naturally wants to play off that right-hand side.

“So, I think that it ticks all the boxes in that respect but – at the same time – these transfers are very, very difficult.”

  • HELPING HEND

Watch out David De Gea, Jordan Henderson is back in town.

  • 'COVERS ALL DEMANDS'

Huddersfield head coach Carlos Corberan is looking forward to working with United loanee Pereira.

He said: “Joel Pereira is a player that covers all the demands we have from our goalkeepers.

“In terms of his reflexes, domination of the box, covering spaces and distribution of the play – all of these abilities are something that aren't easy to find in a keeper.

“For me, it's a very positive from reaction from the club, in terms of getting a replacement from Ryan Schofield's injury.

“We are looking forward to working with players with potential that allow us to grow as a club.”

  • DONE DEAL

Huddersfield have signed goalkeeper Joel Castro Pereira on loan from Manchester United.

Since moving to Old Trafford in 2012, he has been shipped out on loan in England, Portugal and Scotland.

And now the 6'5″ shot-stopper will try his luck between the sticks for Huddersfield.

  • SET TO DEP-ART

Ex-Manchester United winger Memphis Depay has issued a come get me plea amid Everton and Barcelona interest.

The Dutchman was integral in Lyon's charge to last season's Champions League semi-final and his form has attracted some of Europe's biggest clubs.

He has cast doubt over his long term future with the club saying he is not sure if he will complete the season with the Ligue 1 side.

Depay said: “I do not see the future, I do not know if I will do the full season here.

“I have been here for four years, I became captain.

“After you have to look at your career, there is no Champions League. At the moment I don’t know.

“I’m really happy to have scored three goals today.

“It wasn’t the best game I’ve played but we start the season with three points, and that’s the most important thing.”

  • FRED ALERT

United are bracing themselves for a Galatasaray bid for Fred, according to reports.
