Borussia Dortmund will not stop Manchester United and Chelsea target Jadon Sancho leaving Borussia Dortmund if his heart is set on a move away.

But the German club will refuse to let the £120million-rated England depart on the cheap.

Sancho, 20, is a top transfer target for plenty of top sides across Europe but Manchester United are the club leading the chase. And now his current employers' chief executive has admitted they will respect the star's wishes if he decides he wants out.

Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke itold Bild: “You always have to respect what the player wants.

“We said before coronavirus that our favourite idea is that Jadon will stay with us.

“I can say that even the very rich clubs, despite the existing crisis, don’t believe they can go on a bargain tour with us.

“We don’t have to sell anyone below value.”

Sancho is under contract at Signal Iduna Park until 2022 after penning an extension in October 2018.

  • REAL OPPORTUNITY

Premier League giants have been alerted to strong suggestions Real Madrid will try to offload superstars Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and James Rodriguez in the summer.

Bale's old club Tottenham and Manchester Unitedhave regularly been linked with the Wales attacker.

Colombia wideman Rodriguez is also thought to have attracted interest from Old Trafford.

And Croatia legend Luka Modric, so popular with fans at his last club Spurs, is the type of playmaker Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta loves.

But on-loan Real star Dani Ceballos was finally bang in form for the Gunners just before football was suspended due to coronavirus.

Chelsea chief Frank Lampard, though, might feel recruiting a 34-year-old like Modric would give the wrong signal to his emerging England creator Mason Mount.

  • I'M THE JUAN TO HELP OUT

Manchester United's growing band of young stars have been offered a helping hand by a player they might ease out of the first-team picture.

Spanish playmaker Juan Mata, 31, is already getting used to starting many games on the bench, having moved to Old Trafford in 2014 after three years with Chelsea.

He told the UTD podcast: “I feel young, honestly, in my body and in my mind….

“So that gives me experience to – especially in difficult situations – behave in a certain way or give advice to the youngsters or something like that, and I think he (Ole Gunnar Solskjaer) values that also.

“Me, as a player, what I can give on the pitch, but also that I will try my best off the pitch for the new players that come, like now Bruno [Fernandes] and Odion [Ighalo], for the youngsters that come through the Academy like Brandon [Williams], Chongy [Tahith Chong], Angel [Gomes] and Jimmy [Garner].”

  • WELCOME MAT

Juan Mata said he thinks it's his responsibility to help new players settle at Manchester United.

The 31-year-old has been at Old Trafford for six years now and in England for nine years in total after joining Chelsea from Valencia in 2011.

He told the UTD podcast: “I feel young, honestly, in my body and in my mind, but obviously I've been playing in the club, and in English football and professionally for 12-13 years now.

“So that gives me experience to – especially in difficult situations – behave in a certain way or give advice to the youngsters or something like that, and I think he (Solskjaer) values that also.
