BARCELONA will not grant Antoine Griezmann a traditional traditional transfer unveiling despite forking out £120million for his services.
The La Liga giants are closing in on the Frenchman after a near two-year pursuit of the Atletico Madrid forward.
Latest reports state they hope to finally conclude the deal with their Spanish rivals for the World Cup winner before Monday.
However, Marca claim the 28-year-old’s arrival will not be greeted with the usual fanfare in front of the club’s supporters at the Nou Camp.
Griezmann frustrated both Barca and their fans 12 months ago when he snubbed them to remain at Atletico for another season.
He announced that news in a controversial documentary – ensuring he will not be the most-popular signing ever.
But the Nou Camp faithful will be denied an opportunity to either show all is forgiven or let him know he still has some making up to do with an official public presentation.
The club are currently re-laying their hallowed turf, meaning no unveiling event can take place there.
Dutchman Frenkie de Jong was shown off on the pitch last week following his capture from Ajax.
