Emmerdale viewers slam Belle Dingle police scene as fans spot interview blunder

Emmerdale 's Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) has spent the past few weeks deceiving Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln) wanting to prove that he was the hit and run driver who knocked down Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb).

During Monday's visit to the Yorkshire village, Belle remained at the police station for questioning after Jamie turned the tables by telling lies about her.

Jamie previously told the police that Belle was behind the hit and run driver and they seem to be taking his claims seriously, much to her dismay.

The situation wasn't looking good for Belle, as CCTV footage from outside a takeaway showed that she was driving Jamie's car on the day of the accident.

Despite this, Belle stayed confident in the interview room, reminding DS Evans that Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) can back up her story.

DS Evans promised that the police would speak to Andrea to see whose version of events she verifies.

Eagled-eyed viewers at home were distracted from the latest Dingle drama after noticing a major blunder.

Fans rushed to their keyboard to point out that Belle's interview at the police station was not being recorded and that the youngster didn't have any legal representation present.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Please tell me she was recording all of that because if not what the hell is the point of this story because as bad as it is already there has to be some point."

Another added: "No recording of the interview? No legal representation? No realistic plot."

A third posted: "Seriously an interview with no recording equipment or are they using Alexa to cover that aspect?"

While a fourth said: "Police scenes really irritate me. There would be two police offers in there and a tape recording."

Belle was later released and returned home to the village, where Jamie seemed a little bit too smug about how things might turn out.

Soon afterwards, Belle was left shaken to the core when she found out that Andrea had given Jamie an alibi for the night of the hit and run.

Belle was left gobsmacked at the betrayal and Jamie couldn't help but rub salt into the wounds.

Jamie said to his former lover: "Let's hope they found out exactly how much of a nutter you are and lock you away."

Will Belle able to prove her innocence?
