It looks like Hollyoaks’ Marnie Nightingale isn’t going anywhere any time soon, as star Lysette Anthony has revealed she has landed a new deal with the show.
The actress revealed that she is purchasing a new home in Liverpool, as she will be on the Channel 4 soap for a while longer yet.
“I’ve signed for another year and I’m buying a house in Liverpool, so I have long-term plans,” she told BANG Showbiz (via Female First). “I am an honorary Scouser. I’m made up, it is boss.”
Lysette recently opened up about playing Marnie on the soap, admitting that filming Marnie’s emotional scenes have been like “free therapy” for her.
“No, it’s really easy – who needs therapy? [It’s] f**king brilliant,” she said.
The actress also teased more drama ahead, adding: “I would like some more mischief before the next drama but I suspect drama might be the way. Bryan Kirkwood, our executive producer, did mutter something about that.
“I said, ‘Oh I’ve got the best job in the world, I get to go to work and cry for a living’, and he said, ‘Trust me there’s a lot more where that came from’.”
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
