Lucie Donlan may have made her feelings for Tommy Fury abundantly clear, but her ex Joe Garratt is still hopeful.
Joe and Lucie were originally coupled up after the first episode of Love Island, but were soon hit with a curveball when Tommy set his sights on Lucie.
However, after the arrival of Molly-Mae Hague, Lucie remained happily in a relationship with Joe, while Tommy coupled up with Molly-Mae.
Joe was brutally dumped shortly after, resulting in Lucie leaning towards Tommy following his departure.
“Joe made a real connection with Lucie when he was in the villa”
Despite watching the romance pan out on screen, Joe is reportedly planning to return to Lucie, and is hopeful the pair will get back together.
A source claimed to OK! online: “Joe made a real connection with Lucie when he was in the villa.”
The source explained it was hard for Joe to watch Lucie declare her love for Tommy, but he believes it would have been different if he had stayed in the villa.
They added: “Joe fully wants to see if they still have that chemistry that they had when they first met and if they can make things work on the outside world.”
Joe has even reportedly spoke to her family about his intentions, and they seem happy for the pair to restart their romance.
Their relationship was getting blasted during Joe’s time in the villa, with many people claiming he was “controlling”.
However, they soon changed their opinion the night before Joe’s dumping, but the votes had already been counted.
Weeks later, fans backed Joe even more, after Lucie confessed her feelings for Tommy.
Lucie has come under fire in recent weeks for telling Tommy she has feelings for him repeatedly, despite him being coupled up with Molly-Mae.
Ultimately it resulted in Lucie’s dumping, and she’s left the villa single – which Joe is definitely happy about.
But will they rekindle their romance? Only time will tell.
