Sharon Mitchell’s ( Letitia Dean) world came crashing down in EastEnders earlier this month when son Dennis Rickman (Bleu Landau) met his demise on board the party boat, and in the coming episodes, she continues to struggle with the recent events, leaving Ian and Kathy Beale (Adam Woodyatt and Gillian Taylforth) incredibly worried.
As the residents of Walford set sail on the Thames earlier this month, Ian decided the event was prime opportunity to get revenge on Dennis — whom he’d just learned was responsible for the online bullying that Bobby had been the subject of.
A series of unfortunate events transpired, and — in spite of Ian doing everything he can to rescue the young lad after his revenge plan collided with the chaos which ensued on board the boat — Dennis was pronounced dead, leaving Sharon devastated.
However, Sharon had just given birth as Dennis took his last breath, so she’s had to come to terms with the loss all the while trying to look after her new-born.
In the coming episodes, it’s apparent that Sharon is still struggling to come to terms with what’s happened — something which leaves both Ian and Kathy concerned.
Later in the week, Jay (Jamie Borthwick) does his best to support Sharon as she arranges Dennis’ funeral, and Linda (Kellie Bright) — seeing her friend struggling — offers to look after the baby in an effort to keep herself busy.
One to watch: Friday 6 March at 8pm on BBC One.
