Strictly Come Dancing bosses have confirmed Bill Bailey has joined the line-up for the BBC show, as they slowly unveil the 2020 cast.
Taking to the official Strictly Instagram account, BBC bosses shared the exciting news, showing the comic posing against a disco ball backdrop.
The post read: "Yes… it's no joke. Award-winning comedian, presenter, multi-instrumentalist and soon to-be-ballroom dancer @the_bill_bailey is booked for Strictly 2020!"
Comedian Bill, 55, regularly appears on hit panel shows Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Have I Got News for You and QI, making for one of the UK's most beloved comics.
Though he is best known for his stand-up work, the Somerset-born funnyman has also acted in popular TV series such as Black Books and Skins.
Bill is the eleventh celeb name to join the Strictly line-up this year, as production dates for the hit dance series loom closer.
This year, there are fewer A-listers taking part in the show, with the BBC reducing the number of episodes in an effort to keep cast and crew safe in the wake of the Covid pandemic.
Boxing superstar Nicola Adams, who recently appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox with her girlfriend Ella Baig, is the first dazzling recruit for the new series, making history with the first same-sex dance couple.
Next up, the UK's first female Home Secretary Jacqui Smith is hitting the dance floor, 11 years after she was forced to step down from her role after an expenses controversy.
After a traumatic knee injury forced him to pull out of last year's production, Made In Chelsea legend Jamie Laing has also signed up for the 2020 season of Strictly.
With just weeks remaining before the series began, the reality star was replaced by Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher – who later went on to win the Glitterball Trophy.
Another famous face to join the show is actress Caroline Quentin, who many will recognise from hit shows Men Behaving Badly and Jonathan Creek.
GMB fans will be delighted to see ITV's Ranvir Singh lacing up her dancing shoes, as the broadcaster leaves Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid behind to take part in the show.
On top of that, beloved Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo is leaving the airwaves to take part in Strictly, having accidentally told their fellow presenter Nick Grimshaw the news some time ago.
NFL star Jason Bell, who shares a daughter with Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle, is the next recruit to join the Strictly ranks, bringing some US charm to the arena.
After that, The Wanted star Max George is the next Strictly hopeful, following in the footsteps of his bandmate Jay McGuinness who won the 2015 series.
Royal Marine JJ Chalmers, who went on to become a TV presenter after suffering devastating injuries in Afghanistan, is the next major name to join the line-up.
Finally, EastEnders star Maisie Smith – who plays Tiffany Butcher in the Walford soap opera – is taking her TikTok moves to the UK's most famous dance floor, joining the Strictly family.
Though the official start date for the new season of Strictly has yet to be confirmed, the series is expected to debut in late October.
