The Undoing: Piers Morgan slams Hugh Grant’s ‘narcissistic’ character

Piers Morgan has reignited his feud with Hugh Grant by criticising the actor’s ‘morally bankrupt’ character in The Undoing.

The Good Morning Britain presenter tuned into the finale on Sky Atlantic last night to find out who killed Elena Alves after six weeks of trying to hunt down the murderer.

However, it seems Piers wasn’t impressed with how the murder mystery wrapped up and described the finale as ‘lame’ while also using it as an opportunity to take aim at his long-time rival Hugh, who plays Dr Jonathan Sachs alongside Nicole Kidman as his wife Grace Fraser.

Piers said on Tuesday’s GMB: ‘I was up very late last night watching The Undoing, [it] was great. I thought the ending was a bit lame.’

A shocked Susanna Reid said: ‘What? Did you not think those scenes towards the end were enough to give people nightmares?’

Piers then interjected: ‘I’ll also say Hugh Grant is confirmed as a lying, cheating, narcissist, thoroughly disagreeable person who everyone ends up hating. Pretty much character-written, really.’

Hugh’s turn as Jonathan has earned widespread praise and there are even predictions that he and Nicole will be in the running for Golden Globe and Emmy nominations.

The series follows Grace (Kidman) a therapist whose life is turned upside down following the death of Elena, another mother at her son’s school.

*** SPOILER ***

Jonathan finds himself at the centre of the murder investigation after it emerges he had an affair with Elena during his marriage to Grace.

There’s no love lost between Piers and Hugh who first clashed on Twitter in November 2019.

Piers tweeted: ‘Who gives a flying f**k what Coogan and Grant have to say about this election? Honestly, the stupefying pomposity of these clowns trying to thwart democracy is beyond parody.’

Love Actually actor Hugh hit back by referring to Piers’ controversial history as a newspaper editor.

Then in January, Piers described the actor as ‘disgusting’ following his comments on British politics.

‘How dare he say Britain is “finished”? The only thing that’s “finished” is this stuck-up arrogant twerp’s credibility as any kind of political expert,’ Piers tweeted.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
