Madonna’s Secret To Looking Ageless At 62

Pointy bras, the 80s, “Borderline.” That’s right, we are talking about the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna. She’s been in the public eye for going on four decades. And ever since her first top-ten hit in 1984, “Borderline,” she has been defining what it means to be a pop star. That’s a big deal. But even at 62 (yes, really), this ‘Material Girl’ doesn’t look a day over well… flawless. So just how does she do it?

Not only does she have to deal with the effects of aging and other stressors that impact the skin, she also has had to build pop as a genre and become the best-selling female recording artist of all time. (Phew. I’m tired just thinking about it.) But her passions and interests haven’t just stopped at music, and that’s what we can attribute her always fresh face to. Not only is she the queen of pop, but she’s also kind of the queen of skincare. She has always stuck to a solid routine and she even has her own (definitely luxury) skincare brand.

And I know I hear you saying, “But what is her skincare routine? And how can I get what she has?” So I can’t exactly provide you with the voice, the fashion, the best-selling records, or the iconic-ness, but I can provide you with what I know about her skincare routine and how she keeps her skin glowing and ready for any public appearance.

She has a personal esthetician.

Tarin Graham has been tending to Madonna’s facial beauty since 2010, according to W Magazine. She first met Madonna in 2006 when her mom was working as Madonna’s esthetician, she told them. Now, since working with her for 11 years, she considers her family.

Graham told W Magazine the biggest mistake people make with their own skincare is “Overuse of products that are not right for their skin type. I always recommend consulting with an esthetician or a dermatologist on the best routine for your skin type.”

She has her own skincare line with her fave types of products.

“She is extremely knowledgeable on all things skincare, which inspired her to create her own innovative line, MDNA SKIN. She already had an amazing skincare routine when I met her. I only recommend the skin treatments we do.” Graham told W Magazine.

Her dermatologist, Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank, also helped her develop the line, according to Marie Claire. (And for any superfans out there, The Madonna Facial, is available the same day at Dr. Frank’s New York offices.)

Her routine prioritizes hydration.

Graham helped Madonna develop her current skincare routine. And, to no one’s surprise, it involves products from her signature line. “Hydration is key to making skin look young! We all know that dry skin causes wrinkles to be more visible. The best way to keep skin hydrated is with products that contain hyaluronic acid.” Graham told W Magazine. “I recommend applying The Face Serum and The Rose Mist from MDNA SKIN twice a day.” Her love for hydration can be seen in her recommended routine for Madonna.

Here’s the routine, according to Graham via W Magazine:

Oxygen facials and LED treatments supplement her routine.

Madonna gets these treatments done a couple of times a week, according to Marie Claire. Her dermatologist completes these hour-and-a-half treatments in his office. The process includes dermabrasion and a dermal infusion of MDNA Skin The Serum, comprised of thermal water, hyaluronic acid, and antioxidants, he told them.

She’s consistent with her habits.

Applying that serum, getting that facial, or just taking care of your skin one time isn’t going to give you a pop star glow. Consistency is key and Madonna knows it.

“Consistency, routine, and finding something effective is key for Madonna,” Dr. Frank told Marie Claire. “Madonna is an extremely regimented, disciplined person and she follows the essentials to a tee.”

If you struggle with an elaborate routine, he suggests keeping it simple and sticking to the basics of applying sunscreen, avoiding sun exposure, and moisturizing.
