BBC Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice makes huge announcement following Amanda’s exit

Strictly Come Dancing professional, Giovanni Pernice, has made an exciting career announcement following his departure from the show.

The star, 33, had to step away from the competition after his dance partner, Amanda Abbington, decided to quit amid 'rumours of an alleged feud' between the pair.

Now, Gio has offered his fans a chance to meet him and learn some of his famous moves, as he announces he will be taking part in the Donaheys Dancing With The Stars weekend next year.

The three day event, which takes place at Alton Towers in Staffordshire, offers fans of the show a chance to get up close and personal with Strictly stars as they are taught to dance.

Giovanni will join reigning champion Jowita Pyrzstal, as well as Nikita Kuzmin, Lauren Oakley, Aijaz Skorjanec, Janette Manrara, and other professional dancers for this Strictly extravaganza.

Announcing the news on his Instagram story, Giovanni penned: "Thrilled to share some fantastic news with you all.

"Guess where you can catch me in March 2024? I'll be setting the dance floor on fire at the incredible Donaheys Dancing With The Stars Weekend at Alton Towers Resort! SHH.

"It's going to be a weekend filled with dance, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

"Can't wait to see your smiling faces lighting up the dance floor. Get ready to dance the night away because this is going to be legendary!"

The 46-year-old actress, Amanda, withdrew from Strictly Come Dancing due to "personal reasons" and thanked everyone on the show in a statement.

However, she didn't mention her dance partner, Giovanni Pernice, by name, sparking speculation of a disagreement.

An insider claimed that Amanda couldn't keep up with her partner's 'gruelling' dance routines, leading to her choosing to take a step back.

An insider told The Daily Star that Amanda had been feeling "fed up," adding: "The schedule is very gruelling, and after a series of setbacks on the show, she has simply decided, with regret, that it's the right thing to do."

Giovanni took to social media after Strictly announced Amanda's exit from the show to post his own tribute.

Sharing a backstage snap of himself and Amanda taken during Movie Week, the 2021 winner penned: "Amanda… I am so sad we can't continue, but I am proud of what we achieved, and I am sending you so much love."
