Ben Shephard swipes Kate Garraway’s ‘quite hot’ book cover is a body double

Ben Shephard asks Kate Garraway about new book

ITV’s Ben Shephard jokingly said that he thought Kate Garraway “looked hot” whilst they were discussing her new book in a video on Twitter.

The Good Morning Britain presenter made a number of cheeky remarks as he showed viewers a fresh copy of Kate’s new book: The Strength of Love.

Taking to Twitter, he captioned the video: “Major moment in mine and @kategarraway life – on camera she attempts some tidying!!!!

“So her book #thestrengthoflove is out and I’m sure you’ll love it, nearly as much as I love the fact that she tried to tidy her dressing room!”

In the backstage clip, he picked up her book and said: “There’s some amazing pictures in here. I always have a flick through.

“Can we just have a little moment for the front cover, though? I mean, who did you actually get as the body double?”

Kate shook her head and replied: “I don’t know! It doesn’t look anything like me, does it?”

Ben then chimed in: “You look incredible!” to which Kate said: “Yeah, well, it was a while ago.”

At the end of the video, Ben told viewers that the book is available to buy now before saying: “She looks quite hot.”

Kate then reacted by saying twice: “How dare you?” much to the amusement of her colleague.

Ben, 48, is a father of two children and has been married to his wife Annie since 2004.

Whilst he keeps most of his private family life under wraps, sadly Kate’s life was turned upside down in March 2020 when her husband was admitted to hospital with coronavirus.

The virus caused major health complications for Derek Draper and he spent 13 months in hospital with around the clock care.

She gave a heartbreaking update on Giovanni Fletcher’s podcast back in March, saying he is still “very, very damaged” and “can’t really move”.

Kate’s latest book details the reality of being a carer for a loved one and hopes that it will help others get through similar situations.
