WandaVision fans were a little let down when Benedict Cumberbatch didn’t show up on the Disney+ series during its nine episode run.
Fans had been theorizing that the 44-year-old Doctor Strange star would pop up on the series, after it was confirmed that Elizabeth Olsen would bring the Scarlet Witch to the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel, The Multiverse of Madness.
However, it never happened, and it turns out that Benedict didn’t even know fans were hoping for such. Many fans even noticed this big hint!
“I’m sorry to disappoint you. That would have been fun, I guess,” Benedict shared in a recent interview on ReelBlend. “It would have led into Lizzie’s involvement with the movie. That’s all to come.”
However, Benedict did make up for it a bit by spilling some news about the sequel, saying that they’re filming on the project now.
“We’re in the middle of it now – We’ve been filming since before Christmas and it’s very exciting.”
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is expected to bow in 2022.
