The trailer indicates that Hayek Pinault – playing herself – could take the form of a villain, judging by the threatening way she questions ‘Oh, do you?’ in the teaser trailer
Aaron Paul
Paul’s exact character details have not yet been confirmed but he will appear in the episode entitled ‘Beyond the Sea’, possibly serving as one of the ‘two men on a perilous high-tech mission’ in alternative 1969, where his character must bear the consequences of an unimaginable tragedy.
Paul is best known for his portrayal of Jesse Pinkman in Breaking bad. which earnt him an Emmy Award, before reprising the role in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie and the spin-off series Better Call Saul.
The trailer suggests that he will play the role of an American astronaut.
Anjana Vasan as Nida
Nida featured heavily in the teaser for season 6, which has shown viewers that she works in a shoe department, whilst showing signs of sadness and distress.
She can be seen serenely watching from the changing rooms before she shockingly smashes a colleague’s head into a glass cabinet.
She is set to star in the Demon 79 episode, which takes place in northern England in 1979 and sees Vasan feature as a ‘meek sales assistant’ being told she must commit terrible acts to avoid disaster.
Annie Murphy as Joan
Murphy is set to star in the Joan Is Awful episode, playing the part of an ‘average woman’ who discovers that a global streaming platform has launched a series adaptation of her life.
The teaser trailer seems to depict Murphy’s character as a successful and important businesswoman. She receives an ‘I miss you’ text which sends her into a panic, resulting in her crashing a wedding in a cheerleader’s uniform.
The Canadian actress is best known to audiences for being “a little bit Alexis” in her Emmy Award–winning role as Alexis Rose on Schitt’s Creek.

Auden Thornton
It is not immediately obvious as to how Thornton’s character fits into proceedings for the sixth season of Black Mirror but – because of the dramatic nature of the show – the happy life he appears to lead in the trailer could take a turn for the worst.
Thornton will star alongside Hartnett and Paul in the Beyond the Sea episode.
Clara Rugaard as Mazey
Mazey has been described as a ‘troubled starlet’ who must contend with intrusive paparazzi and a hit-and-run incident, whilst being isolated from other characters on-screen.
The teaser shows viewers that her windscreen wiper contains an identical smiley face to that seen on the window in Zazie Beetz’s camera lens, the face also appearing on a watch face in the trailer for season 6.
Josh Hartnett as David
Josh Hartnett’s character David appears to be the partner of Auden Thornton’s character and serves as the other astronaut on the mission with Cliff, who also has family back on Earth.
Harnett will also star in the same episode as Paul, likely as one of the men on this ‘perilous high-tech mission’ that they both seem to be stricken by.
Kate Mara
Mara’s character seems to be leading a solitary existence in a cabin in the woods.
Her character will play a central role in the Beyond the Sea episode. which is set in 1969.
Myha’la Herrold as Pia
Herrold’s character’s highlight of the trailer comes as she s remarks to Blenkin’s that she adores her surroundings, despite appearing to be in an abandoned plot of land.
We know that Herrold will star in the Loch Henry episode, most likely as part of the young documentary-making couple who are drawn to a juicy local story instead.
Paapa Essiedu
The involvement of Essiedu’s character is kept rather clandestine from viewers. All that is revealed is that he is wearing a fabulous 60s costume, whilst maintaining an outgoing and amicable persona.
It has been confirmed that he will feature in the Demon 79 episode of the upcoming series, which means he could be heavily involved with the development of Vasan’s character.
Salma Hayek Pinault as herself
The trailer indicates that Hayek Pinault – playing herself – could take the form of a villain, judging by the threatening way she questions ‘Oh, do you?’ in the teaser trailer.
She will appear in the Joan is Awful episode, portraying Murphy’s character in a series adaptation of her life.

Samuel Blenkin as Davis
Blenkin’s character appears to be a meek friend of Herrold’s character in the teaser.
However, the pair appear to be portrayed as a couple who ‘find themselves drawn to a juicy local story involving shocking events of the past’.
Zazie Beetz
The fact that Beetz’s character is depicted using dial-up internet shows that she is in the past, before she is later seen possibly using her wide lens camera to capture something sinister.
She stars in the Mazey Day episode, where ‘a troubled starlet is dogged by invasive paparazzi while dealing with the consequences of a hit-and-run incident’.
Elaborating about her role, Beetz said: ‘I wouldn’t say my character is having a lot of fun. But I think there’s a really great tongue-in-cheek dark element to it, premonition kind of element. The mirror reflecting back on us.’
