Having been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, the ‘My Heart Will Go On’ hitmaker is revealed to be surrounded by her brothers and sisters in her recovery effort.
AceShowbiz –Celine Dion has moved back to Canada. A little over six months after revealing that she has been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, the “My Heart Will Go On” hitmaker was reported to have been taking her time in recovery surrounded by her family in her native country.
The 55-year-old pop star was also reported by RadarOnline to have sold her $30 million mansion in Las Vegas. She resided in the estate located near Caesars Palace since she spent over 20 years entertaining fans with more than 1,100 shows in the Sin City.
A friend of Celine told the outlet, “Celine has 11 brothers and sisters living in Canada. It’s an amazing, loving support system for her during a time of personal crisis.” The friend further spilled of her condition, “Her disease is incurable, and as hard as she’s worked at it with doctors and therapists, she simply isn’t getting better.”
Just two weeks prior, Celine was reported to be wishing that she is able to return performing on the stage. “It’s heartbreaking that she has had to cancel touring but she is suffering mobility and other issues from the disease disrupting her daily life,” a source told PEOPLE in late May.
“She is doing everything she can while working with doctors because she wants to perform. She has not given up at all,” the source continued. “She is hoping to get all of the issues with this disease under control so she can sing again. Seeing this happen is upsetting to her and to everyone around her.” The source assured her fans that she “loves her audiences.”
Celine herself has apologized for having to cancel all the remaining dates for her 2023-2024 “Courage World Tour”. In a statement released via her website, she said, “I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100 percent.”
“It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again,” she continued. “I want you all to know, I’m not giving up… and I can’t wait to see you again!”
