EMILY PRESCOTT: A beautiful response from Amanda Ghost who James Blunt tried to write out of the history of his hit song
Singer James Blunt has accused his co-writer Amanda Ghost of exaggerating her involvement in the production of his hit You’re Beautiful.
In his new memoir, which he says is ‘inspired’ by the truth, James, 49, writes that he gave Amanda credit for ten per cent of the song – which spent five weeks at No1 in 2005 – even though she had only made a passing comment about ‘[tying] up the end of the chorus’. But Amanda, 49, who is working on a musical of The Great Gatsby, is not rising to the bait.
Amanda tells me: ‘I hope with his new book that James proves himself as one of the most important novelists of his generation.’
