Martin Roberts, 58, spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about his new show Strictly The Real Full Monty. On the show, a group of celebrities strip in a stage performance to raise awareness for life saving cancer checks.
I absolutely fell to pieces.

The TV presenter revealed that the group had to get naked in front of each other straight away during the photoshoot for the show.
Martin is doing the show with the likes of professional dancers James and Ola Jordan, Blue singer Duncan James and Olympian Colin Jackson.
He said: “Then we were at the point when we were getting ready and we had to get naked.
“So it’s like wowzers and the first thing we did was the photoshoot where we had to actually get naked and that was probably the worst day of them all.” (sic)
This was the first time the group had to get naked in front of each other, with the reality of the situation hitting Martin.
He said: “You strip off in the bathroom then the bathrooms are gone and there’s a camera crew and a photographer.
“That for me was total total total terror and I absolutely fell to pieces at the end of that.
“I broke down in tears just from the emotion of it all and what I’ve gone through and the guys were really supportive and we all supported each other for gold.”
Martin would have become emotional also due to the reasoning behind why he is doing the show.
The Homes Under the Hammer star lost his best friend Dave to bowel cancer four years ago.
Relating to the show, he said: “His wife was absolutely convinced that if he got to the doctors sooner, he would have probably still been here but being a bloke he was like, ‘Oh I’ve got a bit of blood in my poo, no big deal, you know, whatever’.
“And that unfortunately is the way that most blokes are, when it comes to especially sort of private places, people are like, ‘Do I really need to go somewhere, do I want a finger up my bum?’”
Martin wants to do the show to “get the message through”, that “you have got to go to the doctor, sooner rather than later, the first time you sense any problems”.
The TV presenter had to ignore his own body confidence issues doing the show, and revealed he agreed to do the show as long as he wasn’t going to be surrounded by lots of “hunks”.
When the group first met, Martin realised his rules had not been listened to as in walked Olympian Colin Jackson, dancer James Jordan, Love Island star Teddy Soares and Blue’s Duncan James.
When the group first began practising, Martin was very shocked that two of the others in his group were “not comfortable” with taking off their shirts.
At first Martin was thinking in his head “Why are you not comfortable with taking off your shirt? You are super fit!”
He said: “But then you realise that everyone has their own insecurities.
“So Teddy might think well I’m not quite as fit as I was when I was on Love Island or like Colin might think I’m not as fit as I was when I was an Olympic athlete.
“So it surprised me that we all went through that insecurity thing but that doesn’t take away from the fact they are complete weapons.”
Strictly: The Real Full Monty 2021 will air on Monday, December 13 and Tuesday, December 14 at 9pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
