Strictly Come Dancing host Fleur East has revealed why she won’t be able to look her former dance partner Vito Coppola in the eye when he appears on the It Takes Two sofa this series.
The former Strictly finalist, who wowed crowds at Cheshire’s DevaFest this summer, spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about why it will be “weird” finding her feet in her new role.
She said: “It’s nice! I think it’s going to be really weird for me though, because I remember going into it last year and seeing all the pros and just looking up to them and admiring them and thinking, ‘Jeez – these people are so talented…’
“But now they’re going to be sitting across from me on the sofa and I have to interview them. That’s really weird.
Speaking about her former dance partner, Fleur admitted: “I don’t think I’d be able to look Vito in the eye with a new partner and treat him as though I don’t know anything about him.

“I’m just going to be like, ‘What was going on there on Saturday night then!?’ It’s going to be funny.”
She then quipped: “He will get an extra grilling!”
Speaking about her close relationship with Vito and other contestants on the show, Fleur reflected on competing in the BBC staple last year.
“It’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, which is funny because although it was such a challenge, I loved every second of it,” she explained.

“You just fully immerse yourself in it. I don’t think there’s anything else that’s quite intense in that way.
“Like everybody says, it’s like a family and it’s because you see each other all the time. You and your partner see each other every single day pretty much – for three months, if you go all the way.
“They really are like your family,” she continued. “Vito is now like my brother – he is in the family.
“We’ve cooked together, we’ve gone out together with my husband, we’ve spent so much time together.”
Fleur, who reached the final of the BBC dance show last year alongside professional partner Vito, has taken over the reins from Rylan Clark on the spin-off show.
The singer is also joined by former Strictly professional Janette Manrara, who has returned to the programme just weeks after giving birth to her first child.
