Hits Radio host, Gemma Atkinson was called out by concerned parents as she shared a sweet snap of both her and Mia lifting weights together in her at-home gym. Gemma was quick to clap back at her critics as she told them to “chill”.
In a video post, she explained: “I’m training now, Mia’s gone.
“But no, I got grief because she is too young to lift weights apparently it’s bad for her bones…”
Pausing for suspense, Gemma revealed the weight Mia was seen lifting in the video was a plastic dog toy in the shape of a weight.
She continued: “This is a dog toy, a squeaky dog toy. Mia’s cups heavier… chill.”
It is not the first time Gemma has spoken out on the criticism she has faced by fellow mothers online.
During an interview with The Sun last year, Gemma said: “It baffles me why, just because someone would do something different to yourself, it instantly makes it wrong.
“It’s the whole two plus two equals four but so does three plus one.”
She continued: “It’s the same end result, but people do the maths differently.

Gemma and partner Gorka Márquez welcomed their daughter Mia back in 2019.
The couple had previously met two years prior when Gemma competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017.
Amid lockdown last year Gemma celebrated Mia’s birthday with her followers on Instagram.
At the time she wrote: “Feliz cumpleaños Mia! Your very first Birthday!!!!
“Thank you for choosing me to be your mum. You’re my everything.
“Making us so proud and keeping us laughing daily (even on little sleep) Me and papa love you. Enjoy your special day!”
