Isaac Bardavid has died aged 91 as Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman paid tribute to the “legend” performer. The famous voiceover artist died on February 1 following a long bout of emphysema, his grandson has confirmed.

The actor was rushed to the hospital on January 26, according to reports.

The “disease was insisting on keeping the oxygenation very low, even though he was using the devices he already has at home, so he had to be taken to the hospital for treatment,” according to US Day News.

Hugh Jackman, who played Wolverine in the X-Men movies, has led tributes for the late actor.

Sharing a video of him and Isaac together on Instagram, the X-Men actor penned a heartfelt message.

In view of his 30 million followers, wrote: “Isaac Bardavid. What a legend. What a life and legacy. What a voice!! #Wolverine #Brazil…Rest well, my friend.”

In the candid clip, Hugh said, “Don’t be what they made you,” with Isaac appearing to repeat the line in Portuguese.

The Wolverine actor’s comment section was inundated with messages of condolence as they praised Isaac.

Social media user Aquiman Costa penned: “Isaac is a legend!”

Kazza commented: “This was very sad news indeed. Condolences to Isaac’s family.”

Douglas remarked: “I’m heartbroken. Thank you for posting this in his honor Hugh. Brazil loves both of you.”

Anna added: “It’s a giant loss for all Brazilian voice acting fans.”

The actor was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1931 and is best known for his roles in Tocaia Grande, Carrer del Mar, and King David.

His sad death was confirmed by his family with a post on social media, who opened the post with a poignant message that read in Portuguese: “If I know the crown well, he would say like this: Take care of life, my son!”

They went on to pay tribute to Isaac for “always making others smile” and laugh with his jokes and for always being happy. They said he “had been wondering for some time why he was still alive” as sadly a lot of his friends had been passing away recently.

According to his family, he had said he was very sad and didn’t understand why others were dying before him, especially if they were younger than he was.
