Janette Manrara became the new host of Strictly Come Dancing’s spin-off show It Takes Two last year. It comes after the professional dancer announced she had quit the dancefloor after eight years back in June and revealed she was taken over Zoe Ball’s presenting role alongside Rylan Clark.

The 38-year-old has spoken out about her worries after replacing the veteran presenter on the BBC show.

The Morning Live host, who is married to fellow dancer Aljaz Skorjanec, opened up about her concerns in a candid interview.

The BBC star admitted she “didn’t want to let Zoe down” who had fronted the spin-off series for a decade.

Janette revealed that her biggest fear was the public’s reaction but shared that fans of the show had been positive.

After being quizzed about the presenting gig, she explained: “I’d always thought, once I hang my dance shoes up, I want to still entertain and talk about dance.

“I was never nervous about presenting – I knew Strictly inside out.”

Janette continued: “I was worried about the viewers, but they’ve welcomed me with open arms.

“I didn’t want to let Zoe down – she called me every day, she was really on my side.”

The radio and television presenter, who hosts BBC Radio 2’s Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, announced she was quitting the series after 10 years back in May.

In a statement posted on her Instagram page at the time, she said: “Dance lovers, after 10 joyous years I am waltzing away from It Takes Two.

“As a massive @bbcstrictly fan I have loved spending my autumn teatimes with the celebrity dancers, the gorgeous and awesome pro dancers, the judges, my girl Vicky Gill, Rylan, Gethin, and of course my main man Ian Waite.

“Time now for some new cha cha challenges. I will continue to support the Strictly family on the Breakfast Show & can’t wait to watch the Class Of 2021 from my sofa.

Meanwhile, the dancer recently took to Instagram and shared some exciting news ahead of the Strictly tour.

“@strictlycomedancinglive tour rehearsals start today!!!!” Janette told fans.

The star continued: “Pros getting their routines in, celebs remembering their fav dances, singers rehearsing songs, band rehearsing music, judges getting their paddles ready, and I’ll be getting myself ready to make sure you all ENJOY every moment of this long awaited show!!!!”

She then added: “Who’s coming?!?”

Janette has been confirmed to host Strictly Come Dancing’s live arena tour this year and teased a return to the dancefloor.

She cheekily added: “And you never know… you might just see me taking to the dance floor myself – I can’t wait, I’ve really missed it.”
