Jessie J vows to perform Los Angeles concert hours after miscarriage

Jessie J is planning on going ahead with her concert in Los Angeles tonight despite suffering a miscarriage hours before.

The Domino singer announced the devastating news of her pregnancy loss on Wednesday.

In the emotional Instagram post, Jessie, 33, explained that she decided to have the baby on her own and had only learned there was no heartbeat yesterday during her third scan.

Before receiving the heartbreaking news, the singer was concerned about how she’d perform her concert at the Hotel Cafe in LA on Wednesday evening without revealing her pregnancy.

The Price Tag hitmaker explained: ‘What I do know is that I want to sing tonight. Not because Im avoiding the grief or the process, but because I know singing tonight will help me.

‘I have done 2 shows in 2 years and my soul needs it. Even more today. I know some people will be thinking she should just cancel it. But in this moment I have clarity on one thing. I started singing when I was young for joy, to fill my soul and self love therapy, that hasn’t ever changed and I have to process this my way [sic].

‘I want to be honest and true and not hide what I’m feeling. I deserve that. I want to be as myself as I can be in this moment. Not just for the audience but for myself and my little baby that did it’s best.

‘I know myself and I know I would talk about it on stage because that’s who I am. So instead of a tearful emotional speech trying to explain my energy. This feels safer.’

She concluded: ‘So I will see you tonight LA. I may crack less jokes but my heart will be in the room.’

Jessie was bombarded with messages of support from her celebrity friends, including Laura Whitmore who wrote: ‘Oh babe, I’m sorry. Sending love ❤️ xxx.’

Pixie Lott said: ‘I’m so sorry jessie sending loads of love ❤️❤️❤️❤️.’

Tamar Braxton told the singer: ‘I’m so sorry pumpkin. That’s not an easy process but with God, you will get through it💔😇.’

Lauren Jauregui commented: ‘Sending you lots of love angel❤️.’

Jojo simply stated: ‘I love you.’

Jessie has further shows at the Hard Cafe scheduled for December 1, 15 and 22, with the residency billed as an ‘acoustic evening’.

The musician was previously told she would struggle to conceive children and announced the news at her Royal Albert Hall show in London in 2018. However, she was always determined to become a mother regardless of her relationship status.

Jessie only recently split from boyfriend Max Pham Nguyen after seven months of dating, and she was previously in a two-year relationship with actor Channing Tatum until last year.
