Jonathan Ross pushes daughter Betty in wheelchair during epic birthday bash

Jonathan Ross’s daughter asks people not to send medical advice

TV host Jonathan Ross was on hand to push his daughter Betty in a wheelchair as she made it to a restaurant for the first time in over three years.

Jonathan’s eldest daughter sported pistachio green curly hair for the occasion, and seemed to be in high spirits as she posed with her birthday cake.

Revealing her favourite photos from the day of her 32rd birthday party, Betty explained that her special day had actually been on July 9, but she was just getting around to posting the highlights.

“Birthday pics and my first time at a restaurant since February 2020,” she exclaimed happily in her caption.

Betty has become wheelchair-bound as she suffers from multiple health conditions, including fibromyalgia, which causes chronic pain all over the body and extreme exhaustion.

She also lives with chronic fatigue syndrome, a little-understood health condition with no definitive cause, which some doctors believe is related to an overactive or malfunctioning immune system.

In addition, Betty has also been diagnosed with postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS), which causes an abnormal increase in heart rate after getting up from a seated position.

To add further complications to her life, she was also diagnosed with long Covid during the pandemic.

However, in spite of her health woes, she celebrated her birthday in style with a meal at Japanese eatery, Okan.

She attended the restaurant with dad Jonathan, mum Jane Goldman, her sister Honey and pals.

In another of the photos from her special day, she wore a champagne satin vest top and loose-fitting trousers, while Jonathan was every bit the doting dad as she pushed her wheelchair along.

The birthday celebrations follow a recent trauma when her dog Rygel died in June, after 10 years together.

“I’ve had this sweet squiggler in my life for 10 years, he was by my side when I got both my degrees, he watched me fall in love with the love of my life, he watched friends come and others go,” she lamented.

“Goodbye, sweet space pig; you were bigger than the whole sky, galaxy, and universe. It’s impressive how much character can fit into such a small little breezeblock. You were so loved, and you will be so missed.”

Betty, who describes herself on Instagram as “your favourite fat disabled dyke”, has used the platform to share how she deals with the limiting nature of her illness.

In one post to her Stories, she explained that she estimates how much activity she can manage in one day and then, to be on the safe side, halves it.

“If I feel like I think I could manage a 30 minute trip to the park, I won’t actually do more than a 15 minute trip out, and I just apply that to like everything,” she explained.
