Kate Middleton always indulges in her ‘favourite pudding’ at her local pub

Most members of the Royal Family are known to care about their health and well-being. Whether that be eating healthy or exercising together.

But most of them also have a secret sweet tooth and love to indulge in their favourite treats from time to time.

The late Queen was known to be mindful of her health, whether that be watching what she eats and taking long walks at Balmoral or any of her other estates.

She also preferred simple dishes with lots of fruit and vegetables over heavy sauces, and always insisted on eating seasonally.

Another member of the Royal Family who has also become known to care about their health is the Princess of Wales.

Even though Kate has previously expressed that she loves foods like green smoothies, avocados, and goji berries, she definitely also has a sweet tooth. And there’s one dessert that is said to be a favourite of hers.

While Kate is known to love healthy snacks – from goji berries to popcorn – it seems her favourite pudding is an iconic British classic that she enjoys whenever she visits The Old Boot Inn in Stanford Dingley, Berkshire.

Chef Rody Warot told People: "Kate is always discreet and has always complimented the dishes with great kindness… For dessert, her favourite is sticky toffee pudding. It’s moist and spongy."

The Princess shares this love of sweets with her husband, Prince William, and late mother-in-law, as they’re both a big fan of a chocolate biscuit cake former royal chef Darren McGrady used to make.

The prince even liked it so much that he asked to have it as his groom’s cake for his wedding to Kate in 2011.

When it comes to the chocolate biscuit cake, chocolatier Barry Colenso has said: “Although the McVitie's Cake Company and I developed it into a wedding cake, we stuck closely to the guidelines issued from Buckingham Palace to make sure it was just right. It was rich, indulgent and creamy with a really snappy texture which came from the Rich Tea biscuits.”

Barry continued: “The Tiffin cake itself was pretty straightforward as the recipe was issued from the Palace, but the extras and decorations were a different story.

"The McVities' team and I worked 24/7 for 29 straight days to make sure we made something spectacular, and that met Prince William and Kate's brief.”

The late Queen also shared her grandson's fondness for the odd sweet treat as it was previously reported that the first thing she would eat in the morning was a few biscuits.

But which type of biscuit is her go-to? Former royal chef Darren McGrady said: "When I was there… Chocolate Bath Olivers.”

Darren has previously said: "She is absolutely a chocoholic. Anything we put on the menu that had chocolate on, she would choose, especially chocolate perfection pie."
