Kate Middleton reportedly has a favourite go-to lunch that is super simple to recreate at home – a watermelon and avocado salad.
The Princess of Wales, 41, is known for her healthy lifestyle and the dish is credited with helping her stay in shape.
In keeping with royal protocol, Kate has never given any interviews about her diet, leaving it down to royal commentators to share her nutrition secrets.
The mum of three is believed to exercise regularly and tries to run most days to complementher healthy eating.
The watermelon salad is reported to be Kate’s go-to lunch, according to Kensington Palace sources. It is described as being a perfect mix of sweet and savoury, while also striking a healthy balance.
Exercise and nutrition experts at Barbend toldExpress.co.uk: “Kate favours organic foods for lunch and incorporates as many raw ingredients as possible.
“Watermelon salads are a staple of Kate’s lunches, and include juicy pink watermelon mixed with avocado, onion, cucumber, and feta cheese – the perfect mix of sweet and savoury."
The spokesperson for the health and nutrition experts added that no matter how wealthy you are, good health and fitness takes work and dedication.
They added: “Kate Middleton is renowned the world over for her glossy hair, healthy complexion and most importantly her fitness and active lifestyle – but she has clearly had to work for these attributes like anyone else.
“As the Princess of Wales is a working royal as well as a mother to three, her schedule will be relatively jam-packed, particularly as she wasn’t raised in a royal household and is hands-on with cooking for her family and spending time with her children.”
The spokesperson said that Kate’s ‘affinity for oatmeal and berries for breakfast’ is an excellent choice for an active lifestyle, as the meal gives bursts of energy throughout the day.
The princess’s watermelon salad is relatively straight-forward to make, so royal fans can recreate the dish at home with this recipe:
