Katie Price gets new kitten months after thousands sign petition to ban her from owning pets

Katie Price has got a new kitten, despite thousands of people signing a petition to ban her from keeping animals.

The little black cat made its first appearance on her Channel 4 show My Mucky Mansion on Tuesday night.

The mum-of-five was seen spray painting a vase baby pink and adding little pom poms around the outside when the small kitten, who wasn’t named, crept up on the table and started walking around.

She said her crafting was exactly what she was looking for, telling the camera: “If I saw this for sale online, I’d buy it, that’s the thing…”

She then became worried that the cat would ruin her hard work and shooed it away, shouting: “Get off cat! I don’t want cat hairs on it!”

Katie has previously come under fire from animal lovers after six of her pets died under her care.

In November a petition to ban her from owning any animals racked up more than 26,000 signatures following the death of her latest dog, Sharon.

The Pomeranian pooch was reportedly struck down by a vehicle in a horror crash after it escaped through an open gate at her home.

At the time, 44-year-old Katie was thought to be "in bits" over the death with a source saying that it was "rotten luck" for her and the family.

Another pup, named Rolo, who was a gift for her eldest daughter Princess Andre, died in 2020 after the dog suffocated when it got stuck under an electric armchair.

Her previous Alsatian dog, named Sparkle, also tragically died when it ran into the busy A24 road near her home and was hit by a car.

A fourth dog, this time a German Shepherd named Queenie, was killed by another driver in 2018.

It’s not just dogs that Katie has heartbreakingly lost.

In 2014, one of her beloved horses escaped from a field onto the busy road and died after being struck by a vehicle.

Her pet chameleon also passed away from a "broken heart" after Princess and her younger brother Junior both moved in with their dad Peter during the summer.

The organisers of the petition allege that Katie’s pets are dying due to a "lack of care" and claim "she should be banned from buying animals".

The petition, which was started by Ban fur Don't wear animal fur for attention of the RSPCA and animal rights group PETA, currently has 26,652 signatures. Any petitions that reach 100,000 signatures are almost always debated in UK government.
