Kelly Clarkson Covers Otis Redding’s Classic ‘These Arms Of Mine’

Kelly Clarkson covered Otis Redding‘s classic “These Arms Of Mine” on last Friday’s “Kellyoke” segment on her talk show “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”

“These arms of mine/ They are burning/ Burning from wanting you/ These arms of mine/ They are wanting/ Wanting to hold you,” Clarkson sang, giving the song her own spin.

“These Arms of Mine” was Redding’s first-released Stax Records single, with “Hey Hey Baby” on its B-side. The song became Redding’s first successful single. The song was also included on Redding’s 1964 debut album Pain in My Heart.

The song peaked at No. 22 on Billboard‘s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and No. 85 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963.
