Ken Bruce has wished his BBC Radio colleague the best as they presented their last show. The veteran BBC presenter bid farewell to Shaun Keaveny, 49, who is leaving the broadcaster after 14 years.

Shaun confirmed earlier this week he would be stepping down from his BBC Radio 6 show.

However, today was his last show as he broadcast from the London studio.

To mark the moment, Ken took to Twitter to share his thoughts.

He penned earlier today: “So @shaunwkeaveny moves on; a unique broadcaster and a top bloke.

“Your next adventure awaits!” the radio presenter continued.

Ken’s colleague Zoe Ball also penned an emotional tribute to Shaun earlier this week.

The star said she was a “big mess of emotions” over the news.

Posting on Instagram, Zoe shared a snap of Shaun and his co-star Matt Everitt.

She wrote: “Big mess of emotion as our Wogan housemate Shaun Keaveny does his last shows for @bbc6music this week.

“Met back in the day at Xfm with @everittmatt & have stalked them ever since.”

She continued: “Up there with my favourite ever broadcasters, Shaun is a super smart, gifted, hugely hilarious, self-deprecating, all round splendid fellow. A don of the airwaves.

“Through the highs and lows of our breakfasts then afternoons, he’s been there for us.”

Writing yesterday, Shaun shared how he was feeling “overwhelmed” with all the lovely messages he had received.

He penned on Twitter: “My mind has gone.

“I am totally overwhelmed by all of your love.

“And most recently by my #thisisyourlife from one of the great broadcasters and mentor to me, @steve_lamacq.

“Tomorrow let’s just open the pub early and talk s*** yea? What you havin by the way? Xxxx”(sic)

Elsewhere, Ken recently addressed how he’s been working in another office amid a query.

The presenter has been presenting his show in the Radio 1 offices while some work is done.

A listener reached out to him earlier this week to ask about this.

They penned: “Ken, are you in a different studio, different microphone, producer or what?

“You sound very different on my radio.”

The veteran broadcaster then replied: “I’m down with da kids in the Radio 1 studios temporarily so maybe it’s affecting me.”
