The late Lisa Marie Presley was revealed to have been a new grandmother when she died, as her eldest daughter Riley Keough announcing that she had secretly welcomed a daughter.
The revelation came at the public memorial service for Lisa Marie, Elvis Presley's only child, who died on 12 January after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Lisa Marie's memorial service was held at her father's iconic Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee on 22 January, as hundreds of people gathered on the lawn of the estate to pay their respects.
Riley's husband Ben Peterson-Smith read out a tribute she had penned to her mother, which revealed that Riley herself is a mother to a baby girl, meaning that Lisa Marie had recently become a grandmother when she died.
It said: “I hope I can love my daughter that way you loved me. The way you love my brother and my sisters. Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my empathy, my courage, my sense of humour.
“My manners, my temper, my wildness, my tenacity. I’m a product of your heart. My sisters are a product of your heart. My brother is a product of your heart.
“We are you. You are us. My eternal love. I hope you finally know how loved you were here. Thank you for trying so hard for us. If I didn’t tell you every day, thank you.”A rep for Riley confirmed to E! News that the actress, the granddaughter of the late Elvis and her husband have welcomed a daughter
It also said: "I remember how it felt to be loved by the most loving mother I've ever known."
A rep for Keough confirmed to PEOPLE that the couple welcomed a baby girl in 2022, although no specifics were given.
Lisa Marie's grieving mother, 77 year old Priscilla Presley, took to the stage to pay tribute to her daughter, as she read a tribute and a poem written by actress Riley, 33, who didn't personally take to the stage.
The tribute read: “I have no idea how to put my mother into words, truth is there are too many. Lisa Marie Presley was an icon, a role model, a superhero to many people all over the world, but Mama was my icon, my role model, my superhero in much more ways than one. Even now, I can’t get across everything there is to be understood or known about her, but as she always said, 'I'll do my best.
The grieving mother went on to read a poem that her granddaughter had written about her mother, which was named 'The Old Soul'.
It talked about how Lisa Marie entered the world in 1968 "born tired" and revealed that Lisa Marie "always knew she wouldn't be here too long."
Speaking for herself, Priscilla then added: "Our hearts are broken. Lisa we all love you."
Lisa was laid to rest beside her late son, Benjamin Keough, who tragically took his own life in 2020, at the cemetery in Graceland, where her father Elvis is also buried.
