Lucy Mecklenburgh revealed it was her "worst nightmare" when she rushed her 18-month-old son Roman to hospital after she found him "blue in his cot".

Last month, the former TOWIE star wrote on Instagram how Roman was transferred to St Mary's London intensive care and was put on a ventilator to help him breathe.

Looking back on the terrifying ordeal, Lucy, 30, has now shared a snap of when she was able to hold her son in her arms when the doctors told her and fiancé Ryan Thomas, 37, he was "ok".

"The best moment of my life," she shared.

"The moment Roman was taken off a ventilator and I got to hold him knowing he would be ok."

Lucy went on to thank her followers for their donations following Roman's hospital dash.

"Thank you for everyone that's donated," she shared.

"I can promise you this money will do so much for children in intensive care and their families."

It comes after Lucy revealed Roman caught chickenpox just weeks after his stay in the intensive unit.

When the star took part in a question and answer session on Instagram, she was asked how her "tough little boy" was doing.

"He's really good but now has chicken pox," Lucy replied, before sharing snaps of Roman's leg, feed and hand.

She continued: "They're everywhere but quite mild and not bothering him too much though.

"He's a tough little boy."

Lucy has since told her fans that Roman is required to take an inhaler twice a day after his scary hospital dash.

The mum of one posted a video of her son Roman playing with his inhaler at home with an added aero-chamber, which makes it easier for children to use, on her Instagram story.

"Just trying to get him used to his inhaler," she said. "He has to have this twice a day now.

"But, he doesn't like it."
