Naomi Osaka Makes Her Dream Come True by Having Her Own Barbie Doll

When announcing the release of the Barbie Role Model Naomi Osaka doll, the Japanese tennis player encourages ‘young girls everywhere to feel empowered to dream big.’

AceShowbizNaomi Osaka has finally fulfilled her lifelong dream. Revealing that she now has her own Barbie doll, the Japanese tennis player expressed her excitement over the achievement on social media.

Making use of Instagram on July 12, the 23-year-old shared some pictures of the Barbie Role Model Naomi Osaka doll. “Teamed up with Barbie back in 2019 but this time it’s officially official because today I’m introducing the Barbie Role Model Naomi Osaka doll,” she first raved in the caption.

“I really hope every child is reminded that they can be and do anything. This is really seeing a dream of mine come to life, having your own Barbie and potentially seeing little kids playing with it. Omg,” the athlete went on gushing. “Fun fact : (the doll is wearing my outfit from the 2020 Australian Open lol) Also I’ll put the link in my bio.”

The outfit in question features a blue-and-pink Nike tank top and shorts as well as a white flared skirt. The doll also wears a white Nike visor and a pair of light blue Nike sneakers. The doll also comes with her own Yonex tennis racket.

This was not the first time Naomi saw herself in Barbie form. In 2019, she became a part of Barbie’s “Sheroes” initiative for the brand’s 60th anniversary. “It’s a really big honor,” she told PEOPLE at that time. “I’ve played with Barbies when I was a kid, and I think it’s a bit of a surreal experience to have the opportunity to have a Barbie that looks like me.”

The good news came weeks after the world’s number-two female tennis player withdrew from the French Open. On the reason why, she got fined for refusing to take part in the event press conferences. She also pulled out of the Berlin WTA 5000 and Wimbledon to focus on her mental health.
