Paloma Faith reveals she and baby daughter are suffering with thrush and shares breastfeeding struggles

Paloma Faith has revealed that she and her newborn baby girl are suffering with thrush as she opened up on a “challenging month”.

The 39 year old singer gave birth to her second child with her partner Leyman Lahcine in February.

And as she adjusts to life as a new mum-of-two, Paloma has been keeping fans up-to-date on her Instagram.

Paloma opened up to fans as she marked a month since she welcomed her baby girl.

Only Love Can Hurt Like This singer Paloma, who recently revealed lockdown helped her achieve her dream of having another child, shared a photo of her baby girl’s hand on her Instagram page.

She then told her 620,000 followers: “It’s been a month! Obviously nothing is straight forward.

“We both have thrush (my nipples, her mouth), have been on Daktarin gel for her and Daktacort for me, plus Fluconodzole 50mg tablet (daily for a week now) and probiotics – and it feels like it’s just getting worse!

“WHERE IS THE MIRACLE CURE PLEASE?!”

She went on to admit she struggles with waiting to see if new tips and tricks work with breastfeeding, as she said: “I’m not very patient so all this ‘try this try that’ with newborns is very challenging for me. I like instant solutions!”

Paloma also gave an update on her little girl’s progress as she said: “Bubs is doing well and started to open her eyes and really look now, which is wonderful.

“Reflux still in full force and trying to learn some upright feeding positions now that she is bigger.

“Don’t want to try the prescription meds, all the media about them is too scary. Had a day yesterday where all I wanted to do was cry.”

Paloma, who previously admitted she feels torn between her two children, also shared her enthusiasm to begin exercising soon as she recovers from her c-section.

She wrote: “I’m starting to get twitchy about being able to exercise but have to wait for the 6 week sign off….. TWO TO GO!

“Finding it hard to be good with my eating and breastfeeding at the same time as it just makes you hungry!”

Paloma’s candid post received more than 21,000 likes from fans while she was flooded with comments of support from fans.

One wrote: “This is all so so familiar. Tongue tie, thrush, mastitis, reflux. The list nobody wants to tick off. I think about those first few weeks and honestly feel like a bit of a warrior for making it through. So are you. Keep on, you’re amazing”.

Another added: “Keep going Mama” followed by an arm flexing emoji. While a third reassured her: “Everything is impermanent. It’ll all be a distance memory soon enough sending endless love xx”.
