Oti Mabuse, 31, has hit back at claims that she married her husband too young. The Dancing on Ice judge has come out with a comment about how she married husband Marius Lepure at 23 years old.
She admitted that she did feel young marrying her husband at that age, but that she’d learned “so much.”
Oti added that she felt it happened at “the right time.”
The star then continued, saying that her husband is the most relaxed person she knows and that he fully understands her mentality.
She said in conversation with The Sun’s Fabulous Magazine in January: “Honestly, I do feel like I was a baby [thinking back on getting married so young], but being married to this beautiful man, I’ve learned so much.
“He’s taught me how to be patient and caring.
“And there’s nothing about that which makes me think I was too young. It happened at the perfect time.
“My husband is the most relaxed human being on earth, and he calms the crazy in me.
“He understands my mentality. He understands the competitive side and pushes me, but he knows the real me at home, too.”
Oti is used to keeping her private life on the down low, but did share unearthed pictures of her wedding back in 2020.
She spoke to The Guardian in January about the fact that she had two wedding ceremonies.
Oti said that her first ceremony was in Denmark in the Countryside.
She said a few years later they had a second ceremony in South Africa.
In January, Oti and Marius set up a property company named Lionshead Property Investments, officially registered on Companies house.
Oti isn’t the only one in her family who has cast her net further than television.
Motsi Mabuse originally trained to be a civil engineer.
She has her own company named Pure Mabuse Entertainment, and receiving around £500,000 per year.
She also got involved in writing children’s picture books, such as Dance With Oti: The Bird Jive, teaching kids to develop their dancing skills.
Two more picture books are expected to follow on soon.
“I moved all the way from Africa so I must make something of myself,” Oti told the Mail Online in January.
“I am really trying to learn and do as much as I can for as long as I can, while I can.”
