Piers Morgan, 56, revealed Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone, 75, once heckled him over his “massive” head, and it’s been something the former Good Morning Britain star has never forgotten. Ahead of the launch of his new show, which will debut in 2022 and stream on Fox Nation in the US, TalkTV in the UK and on Sky News Australia, the outspoken presenter recalled the time he was mocked while making a joke about how the more US TV viewers see of an anchor’s head, the more they like it.
Have you any concept of just how f***ing massive your head is when it appears on this screen

“‘As you can imagine,’ I said, ‘I’m very comfortable with this premise,'” he wrote in his latest column for the Mail Online, recalling a conversation he had had at celebrity nutritionist Gabriela Peacock’s launch party for her new book, 2 Weeks To Feeling Great.
“Over pre-dinner drinks, guests quizzed me about my new TV show coming next year,” Piers penned, noting he was standing with Jodie Kidd, Dame Joan Collins and James Blunt’s wife Sofia.
And when supermodel Yasmin Le Bon asked him what we can all expect to see, he replied: “‘Mainly, my head.'”
“I then told them that a few years ago, while I was watching a boxing match on Sylvester Stallone’s gigantic cinema-style TV at his Bel-Air home, I asked him if he ever watched my then CNN show on it.
“He observed, ‘Yes. Have you any concept of just how f***ing massive your head is when it appears on this screen?’
“Dame Joan nodded and said, ‘Sly’s not wrong – you really do have a very big head!’
“‘Perhaps you should just call your new show Piers Morgan’s Big Head?’ suggested Yasmin, “‘That works on every level.’”
While the presenter is gearing up to make a splash on our screens once more, he recently filmed his final episode of Life Stories, where he sat down with his friend and former GMB colleague Kate Garraway.
Piers announced in October that he would no longer be presenting the ITV series, with Kate then taking the reigns and going on to present three further episodes.
In his column, he opened up about the amazing encounter he had with her husband Derek Draper, who has been suffering from the aftereffects of Covid.
He was first diagnosed with the illness back in March 2020 and he was soon placed in an induced coma.
Earlier this year he was allowed to come home, where he receives almost constant care but Kate has shared how he still struggles with speaking and communicating.
Piers said that he had called his friend ahead of them filming her Life Stories episode, and asked how Derek was doing before he spoke to him himself.
A “stunned” Piers shared how this would mark the first time they had conversed since he was at his legendary star-stunned Christmas party back in December 2019.
Piers wrote: “‘Derek!’ I cried. ‘It’s so good to talk to you!’
“There was a slight pause and then I heard a familiar male voice say very clearly and strongly: ‘Hello!’
“I was stunned, again. ‘HELLO!’ I stammered back. ‘It’s great to hear your voice again. Keep battling, Derek – we’re all so proud of you!’
“There was another pause, then I heard him say the words ‘Thank you’ – again, very clearly.
“It was a strange, thrilling experience. There have been many times when I feared I’d never hear Derek speak again.”
Following the interaction, Kate shared how she couldn’t believe it as it was rare for Derek to have such an interaction.
Piers said he and Kate “looked at each other and went ‘WOW!’ again, in unison.”
He added: “I saw real excitement on Kate’s face. And hope.”
Their Life Stories chat will be broadcast on ITV on Sunday, December 5.
