Princess Charlotte is ‘more relaxed than George’ and ‘composed’ like Kate, says royal expert

Princess Charlotte is more relaxed than her older brother Prince George and is "composed" like her mum, a royal expert has shared. The young royals are often seen together, alongside their younger brother, Prince Louis during a number of royal engagements including the King's Coronation and Trooping the Colour that is taking place this weekend.

As second in line to the throne George, 9, is most likely becoming accustomed to royal duties and appearances even at such a young age. But it appears his younger sister, Charlotte, 8, holds herself differently while out in public compared to the heir to the throne.

Speaking exclusively to OK! historian, writer and broadcaster, Tessa Dunlop said: "Charlotte seems quite composed, she looks out for her little brother, she's very photogenic and in many ways more relaxed than George."

Tessa went on to add that "this is quite normal for girls.

"She's still quite young, it's quite cleverly choreographed, I think we believe we see a lot more of Charlotte than we really do. From the sort of camera angles, the photographs, to her little appearance wearing a matching headpiece with her mother at the Coronation".

The royal expert went on to share the comparison with Charlotte and her mum Kate Middleton, who has "always been very composed". Adding that the way her children are "choreographed is clever."

Tessa said: "Kate is not a foul, she knows they've got a whole life ahead of them.

"It's just slowly and incrementally upping exposure but very much on their terms and quite choreographed".

Talking about George preparing to become King one day Tessa said: "The whole thing is a learning process, that's the point.

"The exposure to the press is one of the hardest things and if you have it earlier I think it's easier to handle. We know that from Philip – he never got used to it, compared to Elizabeth who was born into it."

The three young royals, George, Charlotte and Louis are expected to ride in a carriage this weekend with Kate during their grandfather's official birthday celebrations at Trooping the Colour. Tessa said that seeing the children in the carriage can often feel like a "Disney moment" alongside the military vans and thousands of troops who line the streets of London.

She went on to explain that this is because the Princess of Wales is usually in a "brightly coloured frock and the children go past and everyone whoops". The children are thought to also join their parents The Prince and Princess of Wales on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla for a special appearance on the day.

Trooping the Colour marks the official birthday of the British Sovereign and is one of the major events in the royal calendar that takes place every year. Hundreds of members of regiments of the British Army gather to take part in the historical ceremony with the new monarch due to ride on horseback for the first time since 1986.
