“American Idol” season 10 winner Scotty McCreery released a new music video for “You Time” on Sunday (February 28).
McCreery, who shared a photo of himself, his wife Gabi and their dog sitting on a mountain, captioned the post: “‘View’ Time.”
The visual, directed by Brianna Fish, features McCreery performing with his band and also contains clips of a young couple settling into their first home. Gabi makes a brief appearance at the end of the video.
“‘You Time’ is a fun, romantic, upbeat song and I feel like the video captures all of that, moving back and forth between my performance and the scenes with the couple who are starting their life together,” McCreery told CMT.
McCreery, who said he missed hanging out with his band due to the pandemic, added it was fun shooting for the song.
“Bree made the set so chill and easy. It was my first time to work with her and I really enjoyed it,” McCreery said.
“There are some moments [in the video] that really make me smile,” the singer added. “I don’t want to give anything away, but the final scenes are based on what inspired me to write ‘You Time’ in the first place. … We all need ‘You Time’ with our significant other — for fun, romance, a recharge and more. It’s important we make time for that to happen often. Glad we could make that happen in the video.”
McCreery co-wrote “You Time” with Aaron Eshuis and Frank Rogers. The song, which was released in September, is likely to be the first single from the singer’s upcoming fifth studio album.
