Stacey Solomon turns her bathroom floor into a beach and we can't deal

Stacey Solomon couldn’t resist taking a swipe at influencers who are currently out in Dubai amid the pandemic as she turned her bathroom into a beach for the day – although she has admitted she is feeling ‘instant regret’ over it.

The Loose Women star, 31, is known for getting creative when it comes to entertaining her kids, but nothing prepared us for Stacey’s latest project that saw her tipping buckets of sand all over her bathroom floor.

She had invested in some sand to fill her youngest son Rex’s play pit, but when a bag big enough to fill 10 play pits and then some arrived on her doorstep, Stacey found other, well, interesting ways to put it to use.

So much so, that when her boys – Zachary, 12, Leighton, eight, and Rex, one – asked her for a beach in the bathroom, she caved.

Lining her bathroom floor with old bin bags, Stacey then piled on the sand and, honestly, the thought of that sand going everywhere kind of freaks us out.

Seeing her impromptu beach day as the perfect way to have her say on influencers that have been jetting off overseas and claiming they are ‘working’ despite travel restrictions, Stacey joked: ‘? Beach Life?- in the bathroom ? When your sandpit sand order isn’t what you expected and you don’t have any essential work in Dubai.’

Her jibe comes after Love Island’s Olivia Attwood was seen hitting out at her fellow influencers insisting they are travelling for ‘work purposes’, as she claimed they sound ‘so stupid’ for trying to imply they are not holidaying too.

Settling for a makeshift beach at home, Stacey continued: ‘Tonight I caved. I feel like this might be the only beach they visit for quite a while so I thought why not ey… I’ll also be using this as bribery [for the kids] until the end of time… ?

‘The next time they say they don’t want to get out of bed, brush their teeth, eat their dinner, log on to teams I’m going to remind them of the time I said “ok then fine, let’s build a beach in the bathroom” ??? I’m not joking when I say I can’t believe that after all of this The sand bag is still practically full.’

She added: ‘If anyone is in need of some sandpit sand I’m your girl ????Happy Wednesday love you all ???? P.S the colour difference in my bath after the big boys got out is cracking me up ? P.P.S this is 100% ply pit sand I quadruple checked ? It’s just i bought a bag to fill an entire playground instead of our sandpit ?.’

Stacey’s celebrity pals and fans alike couldn’t believe she’d actually gone through with the messy play, with Jacqueline Jossa commenting on her post: ‘Omg!!!!’

‘This is amazing,’ said former Made In Chelsea star Ashley James, who has just welcomed her first child, and Scarlett Moffatt posted a series of crying laughing emojis.

Stacey shared the process of her bathroom’s beach makeover behind-the-scenes to her Instagram story and joked: ‘I caved and I’m filled with instant regret. But in honestly I want to see a beach as much as they do right now, so bring on the mess.’

We do not envy that clean up one bit.

Stacey revealed that she’ll be re-using the sand used in her bathroom for Rex’s play pit and called on her fans to help her find a play centre or playground where she can donate the kilos of sand she still has left over in her industrial sized bag.

It comes after the mum-of-three was recently seen celebrating her husband-to-be Joe Swash’s birthday in lockdown.

Sharing a sweet tribute to Joe – who she got engaged to on Christmas Eve – Stacey wrote on Instagram: ‘Happy Birthday My Queen ? what a day ? I love that you loved your make shift, last minute birthday, And that all you really wanted to do was be with the boys, play, watch rubbish telly and eat cake.

‘I promise next year for the big 40 it’s going to be amazing. ? I’ve already set my reminder ?We love you bub so much. To the moon and stars and back again. You are the best partner, father and role model we could ever wish for. We don’t know what we did to get so lucky. Happy Happy Birthday bub ? love you forever and always ?.’
