Strictly: Janette Manrara says she has FOMO this year

Rose Ayling-Ellis, 26, and Janette Manrara, 37, were part of an awkward blunder during the latest instalment of It Takes Two. It happened on Wednesday when the host was asking the EastEnders star about last Saturday’s Samba to Cinema Italiano by Kate Hudson.

Appearing to forget that Rose is deaf, Janette asked about the choice of music for the routine.

Janette said: “You’re dancing to this banging tune [music plays]…”

“When you hear that music, how does it make you feel?” she enquired.

In an apparent attempt to make the situation feel less awkward for Rose, her professional dance partner, Giovanni Pernice, interrupted the conversation.

He said: “She’s thinking about Twiggy.”

The pair had previously been shown a video message from British cultural icon Twiggy a few minutes before their routine.

However, Strictly fans had already noticed the blunder.

Some viewers took to Twitter to point out the moment.

rubyeyelashes wrote: “Watching #ItTakesTwo erm, Janette, Rose can’t hear the song so why ask her how she feels when she hears it?! #ffs”

fourneillier said: “Janette asking Rose what she thinks of ‘this banging tune’ LOL!

“Love Janette hosting ITT, think she probably got a little excited and forgot that Rose is deaf.”

CatFromTheNorth added: “Can you remember Rose cannot hear the music when you ask them about it, I mean seriously.”

Last week, Rose and Giovanni scored 32 out of a possible 40 with their Samba.

All four judges seemed impressed, as each gave the pair a score of eight.

Rose and Giovanni seemed content with their score as they celebrated with host Claudia Winkleman.

Rose explained: “I’m improving my Latin now.”

Giovanni added: “We’ve been working on the rotation all week and trying to make the rotation as much as we can.”

The pro dancer also had some words of encouragement for his Strictly partner.

“If we pleased the judges, then well done to you,” he said.
