‘The Naughty Nine’ Cast Dish On What Went On Behind-the-Scenes While Filming the New Disney Holiday Movie (Exclusive)

The cast of Disney‘s new holiday heist movie The Naughty Nine is full of rising young talent!

The new movie follows mischievous fifth grader Andy, who finds himself without a present from Santa on Christmas morning.

Realizing he must have landed on the “naughty list” and feeling unfairly maligned, Andy pulls together a team of eight other “naughty listers” to help him execute an elaborate heist in Santa’s Village at the North Pole to get the presents they feel they deserve.

Along the way, the group comes to realize that the very best way off the naughty list is to redirect their unique talents for good ― instead of mischief.

Keep reading below to see what the young stars shared about working on The Naughty Nine…

Winslow Fegley (Andy)

What was it like shooting in Montreal? Luckily you didn’t have to shovel the snow!
“We did make a snow fort, though. I made a snow fort. Yeah, I was digging it like every day because like in the back of the studios we would film, like in the back of the trailers, there was this huge pile of snow from where they would shovel them and put them back there and I dug this like huge igloo thing and it was great. It was like, it was really long too, it was like 8-feet back. It was, it was awesome.”

What was the funniest scene to film?
“I think everything, when I was just hanging out with the cast, it was just always just so fun, you know. We had a bunch of just like inside jokes and everything. It was just, it was a great time. I think they really made every day just so fun on set.”

Madilyn Kellam (Laurel)

What was it like shooting in Montreal?
“Shooting in Montreal was absolutely incredible. It was cold, but I like the cold, not more than summer, but I do like it. We would hang out a lot in the lobby of our hotel and we’d play card games like Uno. We had a lot of fun. We’d like run around and be kids.”

What was the most fun part for you?
“The most fun part about making this movie was definitely the friends that we made.”

Ayden Elijah (Albert)

What was it like shooting in Montreal?
“On the snowy days we would go down to the lobby and play some cards, like we would play Mafia or Uno. And also on the sunnier days we would go and go get some Boba, go to the jump place, laser tag, and we also went to a science center.”

Anthony Joo (Lewis)

What was it like shooting in Montreal?
“Me and the cast we bonded so much over the two months and we did so much fun stuff together. We went to laser tag, we went to a movie and we hung out in the lobby a lot, almost every day after a long day of shooting. It was so fun.”

Can you share any funny stories?
“Every day was full of funny stories.”

Imogen Cohen (Ha-Yoon)

Did you hang out with the cast in the city?
“The rest of the cast and I definitely hung out in the city. There was a really great Boba place right near the hotel we were all staying at and I love Boba. And we were, you know, we just had a lot of fun there.”

Clara Stack (Rose)

Do you have any behind-the-scenes stories?
“I definitely enjoyed hanging out with the cast. I remember on set, Winslow was building this igloo for like maybe a week or two and then like we kind of turned it into a snow slide after it kind of started deforming. And we used like cardboard boxes as slides and we would like all slide down the snow and it was like really fun.”

Camila Rodriguez (Dulce)

What was the most fun part about making this movie for you?
“Hanging out with the cast in Montreal was so fun… I had the most fun making this movie with the people.”

Do you have a favorite scene?
“The basement scene for sure, that’s my favorite scene. The Legos, it was like super cool. Alberto, the director, he was supposed to make it a surprise, but unfortunately someone, I think, took off the blanket, there was a blanket over it to surprise us and it was this cool neon, North Pole set and it was so beautiful. The whole time I was wondering how much time did they take to build that.”

Deric McCabe (Jon Anthony)

What was your favorite part of filming this movie?
“My favorite part about making this movie was obviously making all the relationship that I made with my now best friends.”

Did the cast hang out together off set?
“We went down to the lobby literally every night, of the hotel, and we just hung out, talked… We hung out a lot, a lot. Because we’re all the way from our families. So, we have, there are nine kids living in the same hotel, so it’s kind of hard not to hang out.”

Would you play games?
“We did have a few games and playing hide and seek around and outside the hotel, we played hide and seek outside. And tag outside….Imogen and I were dancing outside in the snow while the snow fell listening to Arianna Grande.”
