‘Very affectionate’ Kate and William have ‘very mischievous’ side to relationship

Prince William and Kate Middleton have cultivated a "very mischievous" element to their marriage, says behavioural expert Darren Stanton.

The King and Queen in-waiting were university sweethearts before diving into royal life full-time and raising three children together, but the demands of the monarchy don't seem to have dampened their collective spirit.

"William shares a very strong connection with his wife Kate," commented Darren, who's studied the Prince's body language for several years, on behalf of Betfair Casino.

"The two have got a very mischievous side to the relationship, and again, the fact that they are more than happy to kiss, hold hands and just have fun in public shows the kind of relationship that they have, which clearly has gone from strength to strength, and they obviously have a very deep trust and deep relationship."

Elaborating on their closeness out in public, he continued: "We rarely see displays of affection by members of the royal family – especially the late Queen Elizabeth and King Charles. This proves that William isn’t afraid to display his love and deep rapport for Kate.

"I think Prince William appears extremely authentic and genuine as he approaches his next birthday. I think it’s going to be interesting to continue to see how he further develops as he moves towards the throne."

Further along, Darren also suggested that Kate, 41, is predominantly responsible for her husband's "development as a person".

"I think Kate has played a large part in his development. When they met the two of them were not that particularly confident people, however they’ve both developed over the years.

"In respect to Kate, she has played a major part in his development as a person, as a future monarch, and certainly when it comes to his degree of confidence in the world," the expert pointed out.

"She too has developed greatly over the years, even more so than William. She started off quite introverted, not really wanting to get involved, and now she's become a more and more integral part of the royal family – especially since their marriage. These two are now considered to be the most senior members of the working royal family. I definitely believe Kate’s development of confidence has also helped William to feel more at ease."

As for little brother Prince Harry's place in the minds of The Firm, he's muted to send William a birthday card this week as he turns 41, which may reclaim some shade of respect.

Ex-royal butler Grant Harrold theorised: "With families when you fall out you still fix it.

"Hand on heart I still believe that Harry will still reach out to William for his birthday. I think he will reach out to him, definitely, I think they will still reach out to each other on their birthdays."
